1. Does anyone know where I can find info about chemical processes in climbing (rock + indoors + alpinism). For example ropes can hold 2,4 ton; how anchors are attached etc. 2. Could somebody with slight asthma but in a good shape go between 4000-5000m altitude? 3. any1 knows rockclimbing spots near Rome, Italy? Thanks a lot for help!

You can read "Freedom of the Hills" or "Learn to Rock Climb" I have mild asthma and I have never had asthma specific problems at high altitudes but you may want to ask your doctor. I have never climbed in Italy, though I would love to, and I am interested to see what people recommend.
