i dont have friends anymore, nor do i have dedicated partners. this kinda sucks because it was a quick way to pm those folks i conversed with most frequently......any possibility of this feature returning?

I hadn't noticed that yet. But I agree, I'd like to see that feature back as well. It was always nice to be able to see who from the site you've climbed with and made it easy to find those people. I'd like to see it back as well. Jason

I used the partners feature often. It was a good tool to find out about someone from a third person who had claimed to climb with them. I used it when traveling and it has landed me more than a few reliable partners and at the same time it has also allowed me to come prepared mentally for the type of climbing I was to do. It is good to know if the person is a solid 5.10 follower, but cannot lead past 5.3. And I miss my friends....

Another vote for the return of this feature. It improved the site considerably, which is why we put it here in the first place.

And another one... that was one of the most useful features of the site. Now tell me you wiped off the database...JAA?? :) And it was cool to see that a friend was online...to PM him/her...a sort of poor man's chat

Is there some way to at least get the list so I can write down their screen names? I had people listed from other places that I do not have email addresses and such for.

i vote for it too. not only it made finding old friednds a breeze, it also enable you to see who you future partner-to-be climbed with so you could pester those folks for their opinion on said person(s).

Agreed. Waited all weekend through the downtime to contact someone and then had do a search for their username rather than just being able to go to my friends list. But hey, at least there's a wish list so we can mark the stuff we want to buy.

The Friends/Partners list will definitely come back. Attempts were made at having it ready for the initial deployment, but for tech reasons (unknown to a lay-person like moi) it was not possible to have it ready on time. It is coming though, definitely and without a doubt. -F

Does this mean the ones that were on our lists willbe there again? Or will we have to build a new one? I had a lot of traveling people I only climbed with once and can not recreate.

That is actually a very good question to which, sadly, I don't have an answer... yet. Let me find out and I will get back to you on that. -F

How about the Ignore Post/Ignore PM feature of the old board? That was an excellent feature; now, we all get to wade through even more of the crap that gets posted. T

I had a lot of traveling people I only climbed with once and can not recreate. I'm afraid you'll have to build a new one. DDT doh. i guess i won't be the only one having to make new friends/partners.

The 'friends/partners' feature was _by far_ the most important feature of RC.com. I would feel a rather big loss to have lost that list of users that I've bookmarked...people with interesting profiles/posts that I never got a chance to PM/email. Climbing is much more about whom you climb with than what routes you bag, anyone disagree? LESSON: DON'T LIVE WITHOUT COMPUTER BACKUPS! Please bring back the old database!!!
