Attention Boulderers!
The National Park Service, who manages the Blowing Rock Boulders near Boone, North Carolina, has just announced a plans to redevelop a portion of land adjacent to this boulderfield. The Blowing Rock Boulders lie in Valley known as China Creek Orchard. This was a historic orchard owned and run by the Cone Family.
In order to better manage the nearby Cone estate and its associated properties (one of which is the Blowing Rock Boulders) and to memorialize the history of the Cone family (who donated the land), the Park Service has announced three alternative ways to manage the property. These alternatives are detailed in a pamphlet on the project. The link to this document and one for a comment form can e found on the http://www.NCBouldering.com webpage.
One of the alternatives listed mentions closing the Blowing Rock Boulders to climbing. The Boone Climbers Coalition and the Carolina Climbers Coalition are asking all individuals with an interest in preserving our climbing privileges at Blowing Rock to please write to the Park Service with your comments. All information on the project and a link to the online comment form can be found on
http://www.ncboulering.com. The deadline for comments to be received is by Dec. 15th. Please help our voice to be heard!

I couldn't find the online form, I am going to type a letter instead, could anyone else find the form?

(It suggests online submission instead of snail mail)

The OP kind of fatfingered the web address for the NC Bouldering site; the correct address is:

http://www.ncbouldering.com/

Here's a direct link to the online comment form:

http://parkplanning.nps.gov/...amp;documentId=17103

And finally, the Carolina Climbers Coalition web site, in case you're interested:

http://www.carolinaclimbers.org/
