No self respecting boulderer drinks sol or corona after a session. The best way to relax after bouldering is cheap tequilla (sauza) and Jim Beam in the hot tub.

Man do you have multiple rusty cars in the front yard of your overgrown doublewide, with in which you sit on a thread bare sofa watching Jerry Springer and enjoying the refreshing watered down taste of Bud, in a wife beater (after a long day of climbing of course)? Or is that just a misplaced stereotype?

Apperently I stand corrected, but Im more of a Jack Daniels man myself, but if Im broke (as I usually am) Evan Williams is my best friend.

Hrm just got back from a day trip and pushed some hard climbs and tonight i chose an old beer Weidemann(at 8 bucks a case you cant go wrong no matter what) but from my understanding was pretty popular in the mid 70's... Well as you can tell im rambling but its not bad and the hangover is like a 4th class gully on a non alpine route and im chasing it with cuervo classico white... Hrm maybe the other way around but anyway weidemann tastes alot like bud but without the spliiting headache... DISCLAIMER : anything in this thread the poster cannot be held accountable for. Oh shit knocked over my shot trying to type!!!!

In reply to: What would gym climbers drink .. Malt Liquor? O'Douls Non-A As for me, I go with PBR for the bulk, then take some good dark stuff, either Moose Drool (Big Sky Brewing) or Guiness. Can't beat a good Guiness on tap. A black and tan is delicious, but I wouldn't consider that a climbers beer since you have to prepare it. King Cobra, although cheap in Yosemite, literally tastes like malted water. But at 90 cents a tall can why not? Shinerbock sucks.

any votes for Lake Placid Pub and Brewery UBU?? There is this great microbrew right outside North Conway NH that has some great brews too. In New Paltz, the Gilded Otter has some excellent brews. I must admit, their root beer is phenominal.

In reply to: As for Zima and wuss beers, I'd rather drink water! Oh come on, Zima and Smirtnoff are a great way to start the day. Nothing goes better in the morning with fruity pebbles. I cast my vote for Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar

In reply to: The cheapest beer available in Yosemite Valley (varies between King Cobra and OE800, if I recall correctly) seems to be the best bet for the climbers' beer. Last I checked, it was King Cobra, although it went up from 65 cents to 84 cents per pint. Granted, that's been a while. . . at the NRG, Roger and I would go out once a week and grab a few Golden Anniversary beers. 40 oz, $1.09. You have to make sure you drink it FAST cause there's no drinking it warm. The real challenge is to drink yours faster than Roger. This ritual often leads to those involved breaking out more libations which, in turn, encourages the spectators to follow suit. As far as I know, no one has dared to try 2 GAs; the resulting stomach ache would be spectacular, although such a feat would probably earn you infamy in a pretty tough crowd of hardened professionals. Ah, Roger's in the summer. . . I miss it.

That lake placid brew is freekin awesome... my uncle picked up a gallon of their IPA after a lax tournament he was in and it was truely a wonderful beer! Oh and ill be drinkin some cottonwood endo IPA (NC), Sierra Nevada pale ale, new castle, yuengling, saranac (most of their beer is pretty good), blue moon, and rogue dead guy ale to name a few of my favs.

1. it should be cheap 2. it should be available everywhere 3. it should be cheap i prefer most flavours offered by big rock breweries when in western canada, whatever the cheapest is when in the US and when in australia i like coopers dark ale, boags and our home brew. when in Jtree its gin.
