First pic is spolit by the smokey glary nature of the background. Also I like a bit more context in my pics i/e what is going on further down the cliff. Let me see the belayer. It could do with being taken in portrait rather than landscape but that is just my opinion.
Second one, I really like it. The one thing that may spoil it is the smile on the talents face. I see no human drama in the effort it should be taking to keep himself on the rock. Yay, Bucky Beaver, sorry, I know, a bit harsh eh.
Edit to say. Speaking of filing cabinets I just got an external and portable 500 gig hard drive with which to back up my electronic pics on. Much happier now that they are on two places. We have just installed a server here at work so they are also on there as well.

On the first one, you've got a blow-out on one side and wishy-washy, drab colours on the other. If you can bump up the saturation significantly, it might be salvageable. The second one is great.
Edit: Had a quick play. Increased the overall saturation +20, got in with the sponge tool to bring the wall colour up a little further, then burned the midtones on the whole wall. Some improvement, I think. Hope you don't mind!

yah i did happen to notice the blowout just curious as to see how people would respond to it
not really a fan of the photoshopping dude, sorry it looks WAY oversaturated

i like the second shot also -- colors are much more dramatic, and composition is more engaging. i agree that the first shot could have benefitted from a shot that wasn't level with the subject, which makes the moment look much more static, along the lines of what philbox was talking about when he described seeing other things going on...
