No, but in the future you may want to relate the subject line to the body of your message, as in "Sport climbing near Grand Rapids?" Also, have you consulted the Routes section?

There is some sport climbing in Ontario, some in Southern Illinois, and some in Kentucky. The best thing is to use your weekends to go to the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. Its interstate most of the way, and there is a large choice of climbs. If you hook up with friends you can take turns driving. I grew up in Detroit, my introduction to climbing came from family vacations in Colorado. After that I lived in California, New York and Iowa where there are plenty of climbing opportunities. Currently, I have a choice of 5 crags within an hour and a half of home. The closest one is a 20 minute drive. My favorite is a 55 minute drive. For years I longed to return to Michigan, but then it dawned on me that going back home would mean giving up cragging. If I go home, I will usually stop by Planet Rock in Ann Arbor to shake off the road before heading into Detroit. The people there seem to go to the Red River Gorge a lot. Hence my advice.

Grand ledge is close and has ok climbing. its nothing special but its a good fix between trips to the red, and when it gets cold planet rock is a pretty nice gym.
