hey guys, I'm trying to get a group of people together from UVM to start competing at comps around new england, ideally at intercollegiate comps. Do you guys know of any schools that have comps, and how I can reach them? Or any big comps that aren't collegiate but would be fun to enter in new england... actually, anything would be much appreciated!!! love, mo

Well i think it would be fun ill ask around unh and see what it would take to have a comp here we only have a small bouldering wall but we recently had one for unh students and it went alright the other possibility is the dover climbing gym hmmm lol will take some orginizing and stuff but possible. As for when and where the other comps are or who to contact im not sure trying to figure that one out as well. Finally where is colgate? k

Good luck trying to find collegiate comps in New England. I haven't heard of any in the last couple of years. It's hard enough down here at Quinnipiac just to find other people at school to climb with nevermind organizing a comp.

girlclimb - colgate is on the other side of ny. for being next week, I don't think we're gonna make it! girl climb and ne_dan - if you guys pull together a comp, UVM will be there. I think the reason that college comps hasn't happened (same reason the team here went defunct a few years ago) is that the people who ran it all graduated and no one else took the initiative. I don't graduate till '09 and I'll do my damndest to get this team up and running!

So I've been thinking about this for the last couple of minutes. I think it would be easier to do something like this outside. Pretty much every state has at least one bouldering area. Kind of an unoffical gathering / comp. Plus there won't be as much trouble with insurance and trying to find a gym and all that other technical stuff.

well we do have pway really close to hear although i think outdoor comps would be much funner in the fall haha... my advice with pway would be either winter or before the bugs hatch... no reason not to have just a college outside bouldering tour though, if you head over this way ever sweet as bouldering send a pm : ) i graduate this year but ill still look into it all katelyn

so ijust got this message of newengland bouldering.com Hey guys, Im helping organize the Dartmouth comp this year. We are still in the early planning stages, but have set the date for Feb. 24th. We tried not to conflict with other comps that are happening around that time, so hopefully everyone can make it. We should have lots of good prizes and tons of problems. I'll post more info when I have it... Till then, save this date! james
