As mentioned in the Injuries and Accidents thread, Rockclimbing.com user Utahsnowrider died from a fall while ice climbing. Climbing in general is a complicated business. For Reid, who was deaf, it was no doubt more so. That he did not let his physical limitations dampen his spirit should be inspiration to us all. While not a long standing member, he was still a part of this community of climbers, and will be missed.

Very sad news. From his few posts here, it sounds like he really enjoyed ice climbing. Condolences to his family. JL

I spoke with Reid for a short time before the Ouray Ice Fest. He was to meet up with us out there, but didn't make it. For the short communication we had, I'm struck by his passing. I was so impressed with the passion he conveyed for ice and how his being deaf did not hold him back one bit. I was excited to meet him and I'm saddened that I won't have that chance. My sincerest condolences to those that knew him. Mark
