Welcome to the Ladies Room! I am very happy to say that this has been long overdue and a few months in the making.
This is a forum for women and moderated by women.
This will be a section geared toward addressing woman-oriented issues related to climbing. I've been noticing more posts lately by women who have had the guts to post such questions in a male-dominated forum. Issues such as cycles, how to relieve yourself on a big wall, etc. For the most part, the guys that have responded have done so in a mature and sensitive manner, but not always. Again, this takes guts to do this on the part of the poster, and I'm sure there are a lot of women (especially new) who have female-related questions, but don't feel comfortable asking in any of the current sections in the forum.
This section will not be restricted to just woman being able to post, but I feel it will offer a relatively safe place for woman new to climbing to ask questions and get answers that actually apply to a female and experienced woman a place to share their training, strengthening, and technique tips with each other. Not to mention a supportive environment for encouragement and empowerment amongst females in a male-domintaed sport.
This forum is also HIGHLY MODERATED and spamming will ill intentions will not be tolerated and will be deleted. Please report any abuse of this forum to the moderators immediately.

oops...Also forgot to mention the 3 groovy moderators that agreed to do this potentially hazardous job.
Rockwomyn~who's kick-butt no sh** taken attitude made her the perfect candidate to whip some of us girlies into shape. She also brings loads of technical experience.
Juliana~ As young as she is (14!), she has offered witty, insightful, and downright intelligent materials to the forums. She also offers the younger woman's perspective.
Climbchick~ Her with big walls and caving experience and her general wanderlust nature will be inspirational to us all.
These are the first moderators of this room. They are more than just spam censors, but are wonderful women that will post, oversee, and be there to encourage women's issues and concerns shared here.

Yes Krusty. They can be very different.
We climb differently, can have different fears, different challenges and different personal issues and less aggressive women h=may not feel so comfortable posting them in a regular forum.
This is no way intended to separate the site. I fully encourage women to post general topics to solicit male and female reponses in the other forums. But if they have a question, challenge or concern answered by a woman, this is a place for them.
As it is right now, this is a male-dominated site with females being in the minority here. Understood as this is a male-dominated sport. This is just a room to go to chat with other women.

I must say that is is much overdue because of my slacking and lettingit sit for several months after I got everyone so excited about it.
Serious thanks should go to Trevor and Adam as well. This is a privately owned site and the say is not ours in the end, not matter how much we throw a fit. They had their reservations and agreed anyway. I really hope they don't regret it so thanksin advance to all the kick ass chicks that post here and the guys who offer their mature 2 cents.
