There is no summer in Canada. All we have is winter and spring/fall.

The sport climbing ends at the border dude. Canada is the land of the hardman and hardwoman...only scary runout trad and death alpine routes up here.

I've been to Lion's Head (Just East of Michigan) in June and it was amazing. Lots of sport to keep you busy.

Maybe the "poler" bear (bare?) was lost?

Or the penguin. I fixed that spelling error just as you caught it. Sigh... damn weather around here makes it hard to type. Stupid igloo.

But according to Wikipedia (oh so reliable):

Penguins (order Sphenisciformes, family Spheniscidae) are a group of aquatic, flightless birds living almost exclusively in the Southern Hemisphere.

and also:

Homosexual Behaviour
In early February 2004 the New York Times reported a male pair of Chinstrap penguins in the Central Park Zoo in New York City were partnered, and when given an egg which needed incubation, successfully hatched it. Other penguins in New York have also been reported to be forming same-sex pairs.[4]

This was the basis for the children's picture book And Tango Makes Three. The couple about whom the book was based, Roy and Silo, would see further interesting developments in their relationship when in September 2005, Silo left Roy for a female penguin.

Zoos in Japan and Germany have also documented male penguin couples.[5] The couples have been shown to build nests together and use a stone to replace an egg in the nest. Researchers at Rikkyo University in Tokyo found twenty such pairs at sixteen major aquariums and zoos in Japan. Bremerhaven Zoo in Germany attempted to break up the male couples by importing female penguins from Sweden and separating the male couples; they were unsuccessful. The zoo director stated the relationships were too strong between the older couples.

Lots of references to northern hemisphere penquins here - but I guess all the ones north of the equator are gay.

I BET... that the polar bear was/is a Christian right wing evangelist as well as a white supremest and therefore was chasing the gay black penguin. Uh huh.

As mentioned, there's Lion's Head and surrounding area (Cape Croker, White Bluff etc.) In Ontario and I hear Kamouraska in Québec is supposed to be pretty nice.

Beast place in Canada in the East to climb during the summer? I'd say Nova Scotia for sure. Solid granite gear climbing, and rock for bouldering as far as the eye can see by the ocean. Friendly folks to show you around too.

Cool breezes of the ocean or what ever lake you're climbing by (the breeze also takes care of the bugs), then head in for an amazing night life in Halifax.

NB also has some amazing climbing (Welsford, granite again, I beleive) but I can't testify to what its like in the summer.
