Everyone who voted to concentrate on school really need to get their priorities straight in life. Do you really want to spend your days sitting in an office, or would you rather be out on the stone. I would rather put fun first and work second. [ This Message was edited by: clmbnski on 2002-09-19 15:24 ]

No, I'm just looking at the big picture. If I study hard this year, I can get into colorado college (only 15 minutes from sweet climbing at garden of the gods, and 2 hours out of boulder) next year, and climb non-stop for four years. If I don't, I will be stuck at bunker hill community college, with no climbing anywhere.

Yeah, same deal here. If I commit and study and get good grades this year, I can transfer back to CU (hopefully) and be 5 minutes from Boulder Canyon. West Virginia is OK, but its no Colorado. Although I have managed to go the wall at the gym about 2-3 times a week... so its not been too bad!

Oh my god, you've got to be kidding me. You think that concentrating on school is going to TRAP you somewhere? Hell, if anything, it will allow you to climb more in the long run. Think about it. If you're working constantly for a crappy paycheck because of your lack of education you'll hardley EVER be able to climb. Think about the BIG BUCKS and LONG VACATIONS that are perks of a good career. That equals more gear, and better roadtrips. I'll never be able to leave the country to climb on what I'm making now, that's for Damn sure. I stand by my conviction to Focus on school this upcoming semester. Gotta set them goals high. Mabey you should rethink your reasoning? Travis

Yes, Chris. That may be, but you aren't a corporate slave devoted to spend the rest of your life working for someone else. Welcome to the rare breed. I join you in that. I've already been more than most college students can hope to become. However, I got lucky and realized that workaholics and "money" oriented people are a drain on life that should be dipped slowly feet first into a vat of acid. Okay, that may be a little harsh, but the facts state that 9 out of 10 people that go to college are getting a degree in something that involves money, not passion. f---ing drones just like their moron parents. Remember, it is the parents fault. You emulate your parents. They can't be blamed for everything, but the way a child preceives life can be. DRONES!!! Steve

You don't have to drag a ball and chain. Chasing bucks is only one reason for learning. Just do it for your head.

Yeah making lots of money and having a long vacation is nice, but I would rather be on an endless vacation with little money. If you really like doing something, then money isnt an issue. Work for some big company if that is your thing, but Im afraid it isnt mine. Although I do advocate college, learning is good and there are a lot of chicks. Chris
