I am located near Toronto and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a beginners outdoor climbing course?

he is good ... i think hes about 250 for a whole day private. depends on what you mean by outdoor??
most climbing goes on out of doors.
or you can go to the rock oasis and take a lesson.
or buy a book.
like freedom of the hills.

I have climbed indoor, and have read several books. I would like some formal training to start off. I guess a good place to start off is a top rope anchor course.

What you want is a "coming out of the gym" course, and schools such as Equinox, Vector, etc. provide a 2 day top rope course that includes how to build anchors and how to not kill yourself unintentionally.

two days to set up a top rope huh?? sounds excessive, jamie at vector on rope is cool, stay away from equinox, or fly to the rockies and take a course from yamnuska.
or buy me dinner and ill teach you.
talk to cort tho hes a really nice guy, and i highly recomend him.
