Am I early? What day is today? Where are all the ladies to make the coffee? OK I'll make it myself. Extra strong. Help yourselves. Feels like a good day for bacon and eggs.

I was tyring to start the coffee thread, but in the middle of posting my internet passwork expired and wouldn't let me do anything. Didn't even tell me the passwork was expired (took me a bit to figure that one out). Anyway, sloppy morning for me. Put my black shirt on inside out, then put deoderant on before I realized it. Poured near boiling water on my hand when making my tea this morning. Slow here at work, giving me time to wake up properly. I'm almost there, but I could use another 15 min or so.

today is new-southpark-episode day. yay. this morning I weighed 195, down from 201-202 a month ago. I think a cautious but encouraged "yay, me!' is in order. granite, you win the "morning spaz-out" contest for today.

Yay Me!...I mean Yay Rob. Autiosu congrats man, keep it up. Morning all. BUmmed out this monring due to the waether, fatigue, and finally admitting that I wont' be able to make it to the RRG this weekend. At least I've filled my four day weekend with other thigns so I won't sit at home and mope. Friday, brake job on my wife's car, Rotors, Pads, and calipers...hopefully I dont' mess it up too bad. My brother is giving me a hand, he's done his own several times. Still a bit unnerving though.

I'm hoping it'll be better by the time I leave work this afternoon. Bummer about the RRG. Looking at the weather down there it does look like it's going to be kinda chilly though.

Chilly but dry at least. It's going to suck working on a car with frozen hands.

Still a bit unnerving though. Discs aren't usually that bad. Get the Haynes manual or similar and take it slow. if you haven't already, take a quick scan for usegroups or Yahoo groups about your wife's model of car and you'll find any little tips and tricks you might want. you know, that hidden spring clip or that other little bolt that is left threaded or whatever. Worst part, if you're changing the caliper, will be re-bleeding the system. Take you time to do it well and you'll thank yourself.

Thanks Wide, I got a pretty comprehensive DIY with photos, parts lists etc. off a VW user group. At least I managed to scam a garage to do it in, so we don't have to do it in my gravel driveway, that always sucks.

Krillen - working on the wife's brakes, eh? How much do you have the lady insured for? Already had one class, now I have to write a diversity report for a research forest in Bumfuck VT. Today is going to be another long one...I'm SO ready for summer! Spent 6 HOURS yesterday planning out my class schedule for the next two years, making sure I could get all of my requirements in for major, minor and concentration. My eyes are ready to bleed.

So, how many engineers does it take to fix a photocopier? There were 4 or us trying to understand why it only wanted paper from tray 5. I promptly gave up and choose to use the photocopier at the other end of the offices. Worked out well.

Here Biner, I will help, 30% spruce, 30% fir, 30% pine, 10%mixed hardwood/other. Done. that adds up right?

Engineers don't fix things, they generate paper that allows others (who know what they're doing) to fix things. Hurray for paper!

brent_e wrote: Oi, good on dropping some lbs, Rob! what's your goal? Brent, short term, 190. mid 180s would be great. of course lighter is always better, as far as strength-to- weight goes, but these days I'm more motivated by taking some stress off the tendonitis in my left elbow and right hand. Krillen, thanks. refurbishing front disc brakes is one of the most straightforward mechanicking jobs you can take on. be methodical, and you'll do fine.
