No it wouldnt work unless you are not going to dive where you would have that week.

You will just end up buying twice the gas the next week when you make up for trips you put off.

These things don't work because not enough people participate and even if everyone did take part and didnt just buy more gas the next day/week, their cashflow is not going to be bothered by one day or week anyways.

Maybe, but not long term. In order to reduce gas prices there needs to be sustained decrease in demand. The problem with these 'gas-outs' is that there is no net reduction in consumption... people simply stock up on gas before the gas-out; the companies still make their money.

Want to reduce the gas price? Reduce demand: give up that SUV, start carpooling, walking or biking to work. Otherwise, prepare to pay more at the pump.

It's not supply and demand, but trading futures and estimating future supply and future demand.

It's Enron on a national scale. That's all I have to say about that.

Will I fill the truck on May 15th.... hmmm.... depends on how low the gas tanks is.

Really people! Whether you drive your vehicle 30 000km 40 000km or 100 000km a year, you still burn enough gas to drive that much. Maybe if everyone bought enough gas for a year (stored in a private raised gas storage tank), then drove half as much each year for and car pooled... you might be able to hold out for just over 2 years. Now if everyone did that you might get their attention, but a week, or two.... not going to do a damn thing! Sorry, at the end of the year there is NO difference in their proffits, which will be better than last year anyways, so they really don't give a rats ass about a few hundred, or even a few hundred thosand people not filling up on a given day.... everyday there are millions who didn't fill their cars/truchs/motercyles/chainsaws/dirtbike/whathaveyou up. Why? 'cause they weren't out of gas!
