My local REI store (Conshohocken, PA) has the Trango Alpine Equalizer 6' on sale for only $14.95. Regular price is $33.95. The product isn't listed on their website, leading me to believe that it may not be available elsewhere. Still, if you're near a store and need something along these lines, it may be worth checking out.

Dude, I don't know about you, but shoes/sandals that I own invariably end up getting worn outside, which usually means the soles are covered in shit, filth, garbage, and an assortment of other bacterialogically unsound crap. Saw the same pair myself last year and that was the first thing that came into my mind... nothing like dog shit on your beer bottle.

Yeah, I had the same problem with them. A friend of mine has them, and he seems to think that the shoe part never comes into contact with the bottle... I don't know though, I'll just use my nut tool to open mine. Okay, back to deals?

Madrock was cool enough to give us the discount on biners and draws (at least, that's what his post said), even though the discount code it applies to the entire hardware category. Don't try to take advantage of them; not the best way to show our gratitude IMO. (I don't think they'd let it fly anyway when it came time to fill the orders.)

reno wrote: Rockcreek.com has a sale on Marmot gear, with up to 50% off. I know reno was talking specifically about Marmot and I know reno is always contributing to this thread so the upcoming rant has nothing to do with him. Rant (remember, has nothing to do with reno): I hate sites that pretend they have a sale when they don't. Look at Rockcreek.com - tons of the stuff is marked down 5 cents - freaking $.05!!! Give me a break, either the company thinks I'm dumb enough to fall for that (which means they want stupid customers which makes them equally dumb) or they're just really cheap. Bouldering.com does this sort of crap too - false sales. They'll advertise "up to 80% off" and then one item out of 50 is actually on closeout and the rest have some marginal, insulting discount. Don't buy from these companies. Rant over. Deal: EMS is having a 30% off sale - I haven't looked at it, so maybe they're pulling the same sort of crap. Enjoy!

The local gear store in Portland has 30 pairs of size 8 and 8-1/2 One sport rock shoes on sale for $30. This is a high quality One Sports, a made in Italy product that looks like the classic trad shoe. Well made. The 8-1/2 fit me right on the money and felt like a bedroom slipper. My foot is not wide or narrow, but a medium, and I almost always wear an 8-12 street shoe too, so sizing was on the money. I don't know how they handle UPS and shipping cause I just walked in for some Acopas and found this deal. Maybe you can bribe them with an extra $12-15, call up and give them a credit card # and an address or try the web address below. These are honest folks and good people, these shoes are sweet, and cheaper than a resole. BUT they ONLY have 8's and 8-1/2 sizes left right now, but he mentioned having 30 pairs. So the first 30 of you that wear this size are lucky winners. Email: websales@climbmaxmountaineering.com Address: Climb Max Mountaineering, LLC 928 NE 28th Ave. Portland, OR 97232
