I just moved to Tucson and I'm in need of some climbing partners. I climb around 5.8 so I'm not your partner if you're out to just crank up tough stuff. I have experience following trad/multi-pitch and I have led some sport climbs.

My availability is really good, and I'm always willing to go out.

Looking for a partner for either March 8th (Thursday) or the 10th or 11th. Looking to either go out to Paradise Forks or down to Seedona. Will lead cracks upto 5.12 but would like to just get out with someone who's fun.

I'll be flying in to Tempe for a few days this month and want to climb while I'm there. I'll be available to climb the 18th-21st of March. I'm competent sport leading 5.8 or trad leading 5.7, but will happily second on anything up to 5.10. Let me know if you're interested in climbing with me. My email is smistler99@yahoo.com.

I'm looking for partners for the 18th through the 21st for either sport or trad climbing. I've got all the gear, so anyone that's willing to climb for one or all of those days would be welcome to join me. Give me a call if you're interested: 703-581-3996.

Sorry for the double post posted in wrong spot first time

Lake Havasu City Here.

This is my first post as I just signed up today. I would like to find some rock-climber’s that are willing to help a newbie learn the tricks and safety of the rock-climbing. I have done a little uneducated rappelling in the past but have never climbed other then indoor crap houses. I love nature and would love to join some well educated climbers that could help me learn how. I love to rappel but am willing to give climbing a shot. I am 31 and very kind would be willing to drive a couple of hours at most. Let me know.

I'm going to be in Phoenix on March 31 for work and I am looking for someone who knows the area to go climbing with.

If you want a partner/are willing to go out climbing with me I will be sure to return the favor if you ever want a climbing guide in Idaho.

Oops, I see your post contains a small typo. What you meant to say is that Curt's drinking all the beer and scotch.

Ann, you may want to tell people where you will be. A bit of a difference between Tuscon and Flagstaff in distance

howdy doody, az kids.

i've not posted on rc.com since not too long after the big changeover...

anyway, i am/was a regular on the (co) front range thread, until we migrated to another website during the changeover drama.

my parents live in phoenix, and i'll be visiting them in the middle of june. i'd love to take my nephew climbing outside, but i don't know the area very well at all. i'd be looking for some easy (5.6 and under) topropes, the tops/anchors i can access easily. preferrably something with either sport anchors, or tree/boulder anchors, so's i don't have to schlep a whole rack down there just for one climb with a 6 year old.

if someone's got some suggestions, i'd be mighty obliged, and would gladly return the favor by running some colorado beer down to phx on my way...and no, coors does not count as colorado beer.

or if someone could suggest a decent toprope guidebook, that'd be awesome as well. i've got the falcon "Climbing arizona" book, but i don't want to look thru the entire thing.

pm me or post here, i'll be checking from here until travel time.

thanks.

josh.

Josh:

Check out this book:

http://www.amazon.com/...180536499&sr=8-3

It's available at the Phoenix REI stores, so you should, if you wanted to, buy it through your local REI.

BTW, you do know that June is pretty hot here. Best bet might be a long day and going to Flag. Oak Creek Overlook has a few 5.easy routes, and TR set ups only require a LONG stretch of webbing (50 feet or so) and biners.

hey reno,

thanks! i looked at the one az book i have, the falcon climbing arizona one, and the first few climbs listed look perfect, weather/sun issues aside.
i don't have it with me right now, as i'm at work, but there's a few listed as downclimbs/scrambles on camelback mtn, which lead up to the second tier of cliffs, with one or two of the harder lower routes having anchors we could rappel off of.

my nephew has some developmental issues in regards to balance and coordination, so i'm thinking these might be perfect. he also gets pretty tired pretty quickly, so we might just go out early, and get in one route, then rappel.

i would be able to borrow a car, but a full on day trip might be out, since time is so limited, and we'd not be into doing a full day of climbing anyway.

i'll look into that weekend book, that looks perfect for the amount of stuff i'd be doing while down there.

and if anyone has any feedback on the easy camelback mtn stuff, i'm all ears.

thanks again.

josh.

Hey everyone,

I'll be in Sedona around June 14-18 (Thurs-Mon) and would love to get in some climbing. Ive been to Sedona a bunch of times but haven't done as much climbing as I'd like. I can lead sport to 10b but would like to follow someone up trad routes around Sedona. I have my own car and will bring rope, harness, and draws.
