Morning ... got an update to share with everyone. Colleen and Jim have decided to move to Florida. They have put their house on the market, (nice price for an underground house with 30 acres) and are planning on moving this year. So ... this is the last year the Ruckus will happen at Colleens. I do not have any other location to host this event, so I have decided to hang up this hat or pass it onto another. In the past, there have been a few individuals who have offered to host it at their place. For those who would like to take this over, be my guest. If anyone was thinking that they would skip this event and make it next year, you'll be out of luck. This is it folks ... let's make the best of it and while we are at it, lets show Colleen and Jim out gratitude and make it a good one!!

Just to let you know, the black flies and mosquitoes have not been any trouble, but the ticks are bad. Having the area professionally sprayed the week before the Ruckus, so we'll be all good. I have a couple of hats myself ... nice!

I did in fact finally break down and buy the netting for a backpacking trip. Came in quite handy. When it comes to escaping the bugs, I am not too proud

Hi Al... sorry for the delay, but I'm still alive and YES, still planning on heading up. Been busy with work and the baby. Looks like right now Amy and I are planning on heading up with the baby and camping for the weekend. Matt (Notch) and his wife Kim are also planning to come with their new baby boy... so it'll be kids galore. Looking forward to kicking some butt on the pool table again!!

As long as I can have you as a partner at pool again, it's all good! It does sound like there will be some young un's around this year! Sure hope there will be another place to gather next year. It's just getting off the ground ... if it don't r@*n again!

Special guest appearance to the Ruckus thread by...Pharmboy! Give him a round of applause everyone! Yes, if all goes according to plan, the Newman and Shoemaker families will occupy some distant edge of the property so as not to awaken any other campers with untoward crying. Hopefully the babies will also be quiet. Rich, are you in for some Friday trad? Oh yeah, for those interested, what's the discounted rate on the 200 or so 2006 RR t-shirts?

It's my understanding that they will be present at this years gig! Even though the dates are wrong, the meaning is still the same. Are you showing up Friday? Talk to Rich about Thursday! Got something planned in the North country ... As for the lil' ones ... had five myself, and believe it or not, that may be a sweet sound in these ol' ears.

Hey Matt! I'm 100% up for some trad on Friday, definately count me in. I'm still trying to figure out the logistics for getting the family up there and setting up camp. Do you think the girls will set up camp while we go off and play? As for the t-shirts, I have a H-U-G-E box left. I will bring them with me and gladly hand them out for free. Or, if you'd like to make a donation you may donate directly to Jammer... he's really the one that does all the work to get this put together. I'll plan on making my money back on the pool table. Bring your wallet Jake! :-)

No Jake, bring your Cuetec... that's not a bad cue for something made out of fiberglass. I mean after all, Allison Fisher plays with a Cuetec and she ain't half bad. However, I will promise to leave each of my 8 assorted sticks at home... including my custom Joss that was with me when I won a trip to Vegas. So yes... please go upstairs and practice on your table at home... and don't forget your wallet.

OK ... I probably will not be online until I see ya all this weekend, so I wanted to inform you of one more thing. While traveling to Colleens, I will have only one sign indicating where to turn off from 118 onto Stevens Road and it will be exactly across from the turn. The sign will be on the opposite side of Stevens Road ... when traveling West, it'll be on your left side, and when traveling East, it'll be on your right. I thought it best to inform all of this cause some people missed the sigh all together last year. To recap directions ... And, here are the directions: * NOTE: The sign for Stevens Road is gone. Watch your mileage. * From Rumney's parking lot (and surrounding area): Turn Left on Buffalo Road At Stinson Lake Road, turn Right At Rt 25, turn Right (North) and go for 4.2 miles Turn Left onto Rt 118 Follow 118 for 11.1 miles where you will start to see signs at the Stevens Road turn off. Turn Right on Stevens Road and go for .8 miles and Colleens house will be on the left, after the Quonset Hut. From West or form Interstate 89: Take Exit 17 (Rt 4) and go East toward Enfield - Canaan - 16 miles When you reach the center of Canaan, right after the only blinking yellow light, turn Left onto Rt 118. Go 4.1 miles and the turn onto Stevens Road, which is on the Left and is a hair-pin type of turn. Straight to Colleens house.
