Sorry about bumping an old thread, but I wanted to see if ANYONE had gotten the mystery crap that was offered on 5/1/2007? I have emailed COM three times now and filed a PayPal dispute, but I doubt I'll get my money back or the gear I paid for..... S

Escalate your claim asap. I'd give you a 90-1 odds that shawn will not do anything until you escalate it. at homecrag.com, Jay and Doc Jacen have the most experience with Shawn. I got my money back after Shawn never responded to the escalation... so I had to wait for a while, but eventually I did get the money back. You have much more patience than I do lol... you've waited until just now with the 5/1/07 purchase... I believe with that he said it'd ship within 5 days or something.... so I took him at his word on that then gave him the benefit of the doubt with how long it would take for the item to actually ship... then I just figured nothing was coming.

I'm actually not very patient at all, but I was out of town for a couple weeks, life happened, etc and I'm just now able to address it. I have a concern after reading what has been going on that COM isn't even as legit as it once was....which is saying a lot I gather.....and that they in fact are not really offering more than a couple of open "slots" per day. They get a few people to "buy" the product of the day and then say it is "sold out". If they did this in small enough quantities, they could conceivably get away with it for quite a while and make a pretty penny for doing nothing every day. Customers might occasionally dispute, but would generally just chalk it up to bad service, eat the $20 and move on. Don't think I can prove anything, I might be way off base, but it seems unlikely that they can sell the same items weeks after week for different prices and sell out so consistently unless something is going on...I don't believe they used to sell out everyday.... S

Yeah... I've just resorted to assuming climbo is full of crap 100% of the time. It makes life easier. Paypal has given back money a lot... I know of several people who have gotten refunds. If you look into your paypal account, it takes a bit but you should be able to track down a way that Shawn has sent the package with a way that he can confirm it was delivered... and it will still say that the label has been printed off but this does not indicate a shipment or something like that... that's basically all the proof you need. When it ships, USPS will update that to say "Delivered" If you have trouble finding it, let me know, I can try to trace the path I took to find it... but I think it's just in the item details or something... I would look it up right now, but with 28k connection speeds, it takes a while.

I always see it down and get excited. Then it's back up the next day and I think of all the people giving their money to Shawn.

shrug7 wrote: Anyone ever buy one of there mystery packages? Unfortunately. I basically paid $25 for a #10 Omega wedgie. The package also included two dogbones by an unknown brand called "Cypher" and a really crappy beanie that was this hideous green color, but it apparently was supposed to be to insulate under a helmet. I have ONLY used the #10 nut, as the other crap is pretty useless. The other one I bought never showed and I had to go to paypal to get my money back. (I bought two pretty soon to each other so I had not seen how crappy they were actually going to be.) The one that did arrive took FOREVER to actually show up. Personally, I will caution you and warn you to the fullest extent on buying anything from Shawn. It's just not worth it.
