I've really been enjoying Elevenmile in the last month or so. Did some cool cracks, bootied some gear, you know the, usual. I can definitely recommend stuff to out of staters. Those of you bored with the usual climbs can go seek out Mt. Tom just down Springer Gulch. Not in the guide books and it has both trad and sport I hear. Arch Rock, home to many nice cracks and moderate routes.

Hey Stichy - Yea, Elevenmile is pretty cool, with the right partner. Nice photos ! Where'd ya steal the nearly new gear? And what makes you think those cracks are NICE? They are not called the MEANIE (two in particular) cracks for nothing! Gira

Nice verbose response, home boy. Saturday's still no go for me. Good chance I can swing by Sunday morning and roust a few hungover souls from their tents, but I might be climbing "somewhere else" in the Platte.

In reply to: Saturday's still no go for me. Good chance I can swing by Sunday morning and roust a few hungover souls from their tents Bring breakfast burritos and coffee. Not necessarily in that order. It should also be noted, for the record, that cologman won't be able to make this get-together. I think he's getting his panty line waxed or a pedicure or something. Anyway, since he can't make it, and I can't get the cast iron dutch ove past TSA, I won't be making chili for this gathering. I will, though, be driving to Shelf, and will do the chili then. That is all.

I've got an old pile of Playgirl and a whole tube of KY. It will be sooo fun. Er, I meant we should go climbing. I'll be in CA next week too.

I'm much weaker than you but I enjoy taking pics of strengthy climbers and getting pummled on thin cracks. And camhead can give me a reference. I'm weird but delightfully so!

reno wrote: I won't be making chili for this gathering. Speaking of food, the funky little family restaurant at the Lake George turnoff to Elevenmile (Shadow Mountain Inn, I think), seems to be closed. For those of us who did the easy way out for cooking in the past, this isn't an option anymore. Sad -- they had some decent items at great prices, plus an unbelievable selection of home-made pies.
