What in the flip PENJI means? Is it like a funky tension traverse or something. I was looking at a topo the other day a saw it a couple of places and had no clue what it meant. [ This Message was edited by: coconutz on 2002-09-23 19:05 ]

It's a roped traverse. You lower off a piece, then swing over to reach your target. A tension traverse is similar, but you don't have to swing so much as friction and claw your way across. The King Swing on the Nose is the king of all penjis, especially if you do it in one giant swing instead of two big ones.
