Can anyone tell me if there are peaks in the North East US that require technical rock climbing to reach the summit? I have been climbing for nearly 10 years and excluding bouldering and one glacial erratic, have never climbed anything that didn’t have an easier way to the top.

No, there are no peaks in the NE US that require technical climbing to ascend. The closest thing to one might be Seneca Rocks, WV, though it's neither a peak nor in the NE...

I am pretty sure Seneca has a trail to the top of it...

Very few with mandatory technical climbing.Depending on how strict you are with the definition of "peak" you might include some spires. The Eaglet in Franconia Notch for example.

North Peak has a trail, but the South Peak does not. That said, there is a 5.2 route to the South Peak (Old Ladies').

I've heard from several people that the South Peak of Seneca is the highest point reachable only by 5th class climbing east of Devil's Tower. I don't know every peak between DT and the Atlantic Ocean and whether they have trails to the top, so I don't know the validity of this claim.

Old ladies to the top of south peak is definatly technicle. it is only rated 5.2 but it would get a 5.5 rateing at many other clifs... South peak reminds me of a desert tower. it is pretty darn cool

Heck I have no problem admiting that I soloed old ladies rt. Its easy but you sure don't want to fall there are so may other cool rts up there though that i would only use that rt as an unropped access to and from the summit. I wouldn't recomend it as unroped to a beginner though. I bet the seneca indians used it??

Rock and Road has something called the pinnacle in Maine. But it say's:"A 500' granite pinnacle in Maine?" After some search a couple of summers ago, I think the answer maybe no.
But, although it doesn't meat your criteria, if you know what I mean, Katahdin spelling? has apparently some tall technical routes to the top.

Good enough for me, I just want to get to the top of something that can only be reached by climbing, doesn't matter how easy.
One more reason to want to go to Seneca, maybe I'll pretend to get lost on the way to NRG the next time.

I keep trying to get up the sac to solo gunsite. Its only rated 5.3 or 5.4 depending on which line you take but It's some real climbing up there
