My husband and I were thinking about this same thing when we were planning on getting married. We searched for a climbing minister, found none. We were going to have my husbands brother-in-law climb to the top to marry us (he's a pastor) but he wasn't allowed to marry us in Wy. We were even going to hire Frank Sanders to guide someone to the top that could marry us...but again, no suck luck. Ny husband did most of the work trying to arrange this so he know more than I do. What I know the best was that we ended up having a nice small ceremony at a tastful garden in Las Vegas, and spent a few says climbing at Red Rocks instead. Best of luck to you, hope you have better luck than we did.

I dunno about WY laws, but in Cali, you can make anyone an offical "wedding pastor" in like 10 min online. Of course if you're religious, that might not go over so well with the "big man up-stairs" if you catch my drift. So, hopefully you are not too religious, or just follow one of those religions that you can "sin" a billion times, then just confess/apologize to get into "heaven" . Good luck, hopefully you get-er-done!

I would try calling Frank Sanders and the Devil's Tower Lodge. If how can't help you then noone can. Besides you are going to need a place to stay while you are there. 307-467-5267 or info@devilstowerlodge.com JB

I met a climbing minister in Yosemite. He lives in either Arizona or New Mexico, but I could drop him a line if you are interested. You could also try finding someone through climbers for christ (search for recent post on here re: Lovers leap cleanup).

As for the climber from AZ who could marry you, I'm sure you would have the same problems as we did about getting Nathan's brother-in-law from MN to do the ceremony. I hate to shoot holes, if the OP would like I can have my husband email him with more detailed information that he found out.

Not that they would need to know what is going on. But FYI. Get in touch with Frank. We probably could have done it but we were kinda pressed with time and Frank wasn't home while we were planning so he couldn't help us right then. You could probably find a minister or justice who is willing to do it and hire Frank to guide the official to the top. Also you should have a back up plan in case of bad weather.

Hi, I'm "toungeinbarbie"'s daughter, and I thought I would mention that we are in touch with Frank Sanders, once or twice a year we stay at his lodge, normally camping in his yard. Thanks for the help, though.

Here is another crazy thought - have one of your friends get ordained. There are several different "ministries" out there on the internet. My wife and I did this in NY on top of a waterfall and it worked great. No hitches that we know of. Give it a try. It will likely be more meaningful and memorable. Th

I talked to Frank recently and he mentioned there is a way around things, so who knows? First thing to do is get this torn rotator cuff taken care of. Back up to Blue Mounds 5.8(Shawagunks 5.2). If you do visit we planted the garden there in June at the Lodge.
