As I’m sure you’ve all noticed, the Brent_E thread has spun wildly out of control, stacking on posts counts by the second. I’ve done a lot of thinking. Well, I had a thought, and for me that’s a lot. The thread is closely approaching post # 20,000. If history has taught us anything, it’s to draw conclusions from non-existent patterns and predict catastrophes with arbitrary round numbers. So one can only assume that RC.com will self destruct when the Brent_E thread hits 20,000. It’ll be like Y2K times ten, or Y2KxXII. Yes, I realize that’s times 12, but I thought it looked better with a couple of I’s on the end. That, and I hoped it might make the commercials during this tragedy be as good as the Superbowl. Say goodbye to your online buddies now, start your last trolls, post your last flames, the end is nigh. And for God’s sake listen to Majid for once, wear your helmet.

If you want to get freaking technical on this one...Say they are using some form of SQL to run RC.com. In that case (server hosting size restrictions a side) Since the number of entries is limited by HDD size... SQL 2005 has a database limit of 1,048,516 terabytes or 1,048,516,000,000,000,000,000 Bytes Do you want me to convert that to number of floppy disks needed? Technically... //Surly IT guy.....and it's Monday

Unless 2007/2008 came out...but i'm just to lazy to check *used loosely...I swear that DB server has a mind of it's own... 5.25" had anywhere between 360K and 1.2 Megs if i recall.
