Does anyone have some good ideas to fix holes in your climbing shoe soles temporarily. Does shoe goo work? Or anything like that. I just need to make it through the week and then I can send them in. Any tried methods will be appreciated. Thanks

I would use shoe goo. It wont stick to rock, but it will hold the shoe togeather. Its like slick whale bulbber on ice.

I have some two-part urethane that works like epoxy: you mix it up and then it cures. Depending on how warm it is, it takes about three to thirty minutes to set up. If it's colder than about 60 degrees, it can take all night. It's pretty sticky stuff, especially the 50A durometer version. It's very similar to the urethane that Van's shoes used to use back in the '70s and early '80s. I also have a 90A formulation that is harder and more durable. I used the 50A stuff to coat the plain nylon fabric of a haul bag I made, and it worked great. I've never used it to repair shoes, but it would probably be pretty good. The trouble is, you have to buy at least a quart of each component. I buy gallon jugs of the stuff. It'd be nice to have little 4oz bottles of the stuff, as it makes a great glue for just about anything. Since it stays flexible, it almost impossible to break or crack; you can use it to repair fabrics. You could fix a ripping portaledge and some old pieces of tat. Or coat your hands for that gnarly overhanging fist crack your grandma warned you about. Here's where to get it: http://www.goldenwestmfg.com/
