Aid Climbing is the use of specialized gear and rigging to ascend a climb. It is the most technical of the climbing styles, requiring a lot of gear, and knowledge in it's use to do safely and proficiently. Basically... Aid is technical climbing using gear to ascend, where Free Climbing is technical climbing using only your hands and feet to ascend, with ropes and gear for protection only in case of a fall. Get it ??? [ This Message was edited by: rrradam on 2002-10-04 14:24 ]
