They're a company trying to make money. They will do anything to sell there product, thats what advertising is about. The funny part is it worked on you. You will have the name Oakley burned in your brain due to the hatred of this ad.

Not to be stereotypical... but, is it just me or do the girls in the clip seem more like the type that would be found in the local mall gossiping about the latest reality show? One girl has a ton of makeup too.

If he does NOT purchase anything by Oakley, then the ad has failed.
The purpose of advertising is to sell product. Nothing more, nothing less. Branding, imaging, etc., all exist to sell more product. If there is not an increase in sales, then advertising has failed.

I'm a guy who writes ads for a living. That one SOUNDS like a copywriter wrote lines for them. Click on the profiles of the women... they're much better, more natural. Still, I don't find the ad that heinous. Beautiful, fit, strong women. What's not to like?
