Funk Rock City, a popular Red River Gorge Crag located in the Clifty Wilderness Area, has been temporarily closed due to a lightning induced wildfire. Please respect this closure. How long is tempory? Do you think it will effect Rocktoberfest? It has been extreemely dry the past few months.

These are the exact words from the Forest Service e-mail: "The closure will be lifted when the
area is deemed safe." Hopefully the cold front coming through will bring some rain and the cooler temps should help. This closure should not have an effect on Rocktoberfest as most of the outdoor activities will occur in the Natural Bridge region & Southern region.
