I agree if you want to spend your whole day rappelling... we were going for multiple laps, so speedy rappels are a must. Besides, my 8.1s only weigh 7.5 lbs apiece. Not a big deal to lead with doubles... I am used to doing that in the gunks. Good to know that 2 60s would get you down, but I am skeptical, make sure if you use this option you tie some knots in the end of the rope.

cheers.

I've done that rappell route with a single 50M rope in under 10 minutes. The speed of it is more related to the efficiency of the people doing it.
I do know a thing or 2 about speed and efficiency.

I'd have to ask, was this your first time up the 3rd? Have you done the rap route?

You can be as skeptical as you want, I've done it and I can tell you that it goes with 2x60M.

But I've only climbed it 25 or 30 times....

Josh, Chris just moved here from CT. He's the guy I met last year at the base of the Bastille when I took his belay job so he could attend to some important business. I ran into him again at the gunks on the last pitch of the last climb of the last day of my trip. Small world, eh?

Josh and I were talking about that fall of yours at the beginning of Yellow Spur last Thursday when we did Rewritten with a visiting friend. Good job! Josh had carpel tunnel surgery on both wrists and is recovering well. He didn't mention much pain from either wrist on the climb.

Did he happen to mention how I hobbled all the way down the Redgarden approach with a broken foot? I mean seriously...as one of Denver's finest firefighters, I would have expected him to throw me over his shoulder and carry my arse down. Sly

mellow trad cragging partners? [In reply to]

hello,

so, i'm looking for cragging partners, preferably for mellow trad routes. i'm starting to lead again after a decent hiatus and am interested in pretty easy climbing for now. i'm also a single mom and frequently climb with my son (11), so kid-friendly is a must.

i'm shameless enough to bribe with offers of grilled goodies and free beer. i'm open to climbing with new people (as in, people who i havent climbed with before) but will want to climb with you in the gym a bit before we hike up to lumpy or anything. :)

i'll go sport climbing but tend to pansy-out on leading, and i am an absolute, 100% undeniable pansy about bouldering.

i'll try to watch the thread for responses, but feel free to pm.

thanks!
-a.

Hey, are you still looking for partners. I'd love to get out this weekend. I've been climbing for about seven years but have been on a bit of a hiatus lately. I'd be down for any kind of climbing. Hell I'm just dying to get out. Send me an email at brian.hearn@hotmail.com if you're still looking to get out. I'm up for anythin, mostly i just want to get out.

I'm searching for some new climbing partners. I've been climbing for 8 years or so and feel comfortable leading moderate trad and harder sport routes. I also boulder, although the I Can Do scale is pretty low. Anyway if anyone is interested let me know.

heyo,

located in denver, looking for someone who might be willing to take me outside and 'show me the ropes' for lead climbing outside in a sport setting. I've climbed in a gym up till now (2-3 times a week), can lead around 5.10. Have a set of 12 draws and a rope and some books on how to do it but would much rather someone that knows whats up! I'm 22, with a car, most weekends free to some extent. hit me up please!!
