Hey Went to J tree last weekend and there was a posted sign at the local climbig gear supply store stating that Thaquitz and Suicide are closed due to the fire danger. They did not say when they will be open again.

Josh was beautiful this past weekend. Temps were just right. Climb in Josh and pray for rain to lower next year's fire risks.

Yes, Tahquitz and Suicide are closed for the remainder of the fire season (read: "climbing season"). -Jay [ This Message was edited by: jt512 on 2002-10-09 08:08 ]

There is already a thread detailing the Southern California forest closures under the California section.

Yes it's closed, for now. I talked to CDF (Angeles Forest/Williamson) and the USFS (SB NF/Tahquitz) yesterday and basically the end of fire season is when we get our first good rain. Which means that if it rains next week, we're good to start climbing. But if we don't get a good rainstorm til December we're screwed. Pray for rain.
