Network engineer out here in west texas...Nothing too exciting. Exceptionally flat out here unless you enjoy climbing mesquite bushes. 4 hours to the nearest crag so climbing is limited to weekends. Will be moving to San Antonio or Austin within a year...so if you work in IT in one of those towns hit me up :p

I was just flippin' through this dusty old thread and thought it was interesting and could use a revival for all the new folks. I'm a math & science tutor at a university in Virginia. Pay is low and it's not the best spot for big wall climbs, but I have 3-day weekends. Plus the whole university schedule thing. chill

Healthcare finance. I hate the work, but it pays well, I get plenty of time off, have a great boss who also climbs, and I don't have to put up with "where's my next paycheck coming from". Four out of five ain't bad.

I have a flexible schedule as a health care analyst/programmer. Part time indoor climbing instructing job also pays for the parking tickets I inevitably get living in a city.

I am starting to enjoy my life as a seasonal employee (though I am in my early 40s). I work as a ski instructor at Okemo Mt. resort in Ludlow Vt. and in the summer I am a girl's camp vegetarian cook/gardener. I am interested in getting ropes course certified this fall in order to have some work to do in the spring and fall. My sugar mama puts up with my bum ass in between gigs. She's the bomb. oh, and I coach a skool rock climbing club all winter at the local gym.

Photographic retail and education along with web site design and programming at a small store/studio/darkroom. Going to school for Mechanical and Electrical/Computer Engineering in South Jersey. If it wasn't for classes I'd have plenty of free time. *sigh*

schafermc wrote this a few minutes ago, then it disapeared... "People like epicjames are the reason I hate bouldering. They are just ridiculous posers who give me goosebumbs they are so embarrassing to even see. I am so happy that I have never heard any one play music at a crag; if I ever did I think I might uncontrolably barf all over myself. I am not sure whether it infuriates me or makes me laugh when a boulderer calls someone a pussy for using a rope when all they have to worry about is a sprained ankle. Do me a favor and stick to skateboarding and the climbing gym." why do you delete posts here? who is the mod? why does the mod delete opinions.....who is big brother? to the mod...i have that persons reply saved on my gmail, and will post ad nauseum if you delete again..........

I do film work and editing to earn my dollars. The pay to work ratio is freaking awesome. Work for a couple days and then take a few weeks off. Always handy. I'm currently editing a really in depth fly on the wall doco about climbing Aconcagua and it's paying very well. It's fun to combine my two favourite things and make good cash out of it. Sure beats sitting in a cubicle from 9-5.
