anyone seen this ad? Normally I despise the comodification of our sport, but since this one's for beer, I guess can make an exception this time. Notice that the lack of a left hand hold has driven the climber to actually reach out of the picture and grab the frame... cheater. -m

Look at the determination n his face. With compelling ads like this, how can I resist the siren's call. ...and by siren's call I mean beer.

That shit beer has flavour and some other useful properties. If you've seen the Newcastle (England) beer drinkers wandering around the city in the early hours of the morning when the temperature is minus 5 celsius in sleeveless tee shirts, and the women in micro skirts, high heels and very small tops you will realise that it has great antifreeze and pain numbing properties. By the way British pints are bigger than American pints by about one third, and they still drink 8 or ten pints, and the men drink a lot.

Though I am enjoying a Presidente (D.R.) at the moment, whenever I ask for something brown and with a nice head, it's not Halle Berry I'm referring to.

Now, I like beers that hurt me when I drink 'em! Seriously, I had a love affair with newcastle for quite awhile (still love it), but maybe quaffed too many pints because I just don't have the unquenchable lust for it I used to. As far as the ad, at least eh depiction looks semi-legit. You see that water ad where the person is leading?...from a toprope?

Lol nice... I have some of that in my refrigerator, although I haven't tried it yet. Just turned 21 Saturday, and I actually waited until then to drink. So now that you posted this, I might have to try it. :-)

Newcastle isn't bad when there's no good beer available. It's better than mass-produced domestic swill, at least. Give me a Rochefort 10 any day, though.

...all tastes aside, I don't think that drinking while climbing is a responsible endorsement of a product. And why aren't they wearing helmets, anyway?

Sweet Jebus, two of my three favorite things in life. This ad has made me decide to start a hashing club where you climb instead of run. Who's in?
