Anyone wanna give Phuket/TonSai, etc a go? in Jan/Feb? Also Article in climbing magazine said Ton Sai was trashed and closed off by landowner/pollution. No longer climbers paradise. Anyone been there lately care to comment? Thanks, Mike

Just got back from Krabi 2 days ago. Spent my time in Ao Nang, Ton Sai and Railey area. Decided to stay at the better rooms in Ao Nang for 5 days cause Ton Sai were almost full and the only available Railey rooms were out of my budget. Took the longtail boats daily. Did 2 solid days of AWESOME climbing and a day of diving. Am not sure where your magazine got that info from and why ...but everything seemed fine to me.

It's gone. No more bars, no more bungalows, and no more bolts. Vanished, off the face of the earth. Now it's just infested with cobras and birdnest gatherers who will shoot to kill! Don't bother! I would try sunny Otay Mesa in San Diego county. Enjoy your trip. It is the same circus it's been for the last 5 years.

I don't know if this is still relevant, but the info at Krabi airport will point you to the shuttle bus that goes to Ao Nang and there is a long boat from there to Ton Sai beach. I'm staying in the Mambo bungalows room 27 (basic room, 500 Bahts). Have a safe trip! Tal.
