Its been TWO WEEKS from the last trip to real rock,i havent been to a gym either, and i'm going crazy to say the least. I go here and CxM atleast once a day(for hours), and try to ware the shoes every day,and I bring a QD with me everywhere to clip my keys to me. I try to keep climbing around me but i cant go and actualy do it. HELP ME!! Other then the GET OUT AND CLIMB solution, what do i do. Pride P.S. School and Parents are to blame. I feel your pain dude im stuck in school now, wait was that the teacher, no, good. The only advice i can give you is organize all your gear, label each piece and give them cute little names like, bubba or timmy. well thats about all i can give you, but hey if ever wanna run away and come to colorado id be more than happy to head out on the road with you, as long as my parents dont find out

You can always try buildering on your house and if your you get in trouble for that set up a slackline. Nothings better than slacking besides climbing of course.

Sorry to hear that! If I couldn't climb for 2 weeks, I think I would have to begin therapy.

TWO WEEKS?!?!?!? Suck it up man!!!! On Saturday I will have been off the rocks for FIVE yes FIVE WEEKS!!!!!! I really don't know when I'll be able to climb again, my ankle if really f---ed up right now. Loss of movement in multiple directions... lesson learned, don't run-out uber hard trad routes without health insurance. I'll be back sometime after Jan if I don't need surgery, if I do well, I'll be back as soon as I can.

I know how you feel, i havent been climbing at all for a 7 weeks!!! Ive almost gone completely crazy. Ive visted this site at least 10 times a day and read practically every post on here, climbed anything and everything i could reach, and practically bored my friends to death of talking about climbing for the last 2 months. I'm so glad that there has finally been an opening in my partners scheldule and has reluctantly agreed to go climbing this saturday. [ This Message was edited by: kellebelle on 2002-10-17 16:53 ]

Pride, Here's what works for me: Sleep with all of your pro (but since you're a guy... name them girls' names!). It increases your chances of having that awesome nocturnal climbing experience. Good luck (& sweet dreams!)

ohh wow five weeks off of real rock, my my my.... welcome to gym rat land. i will be your guide. to your left you will see the 16 year old climber of one year who lives 2.5 hrs from the gunks. on your right you will see his parents, both non-climbers, and completely unwilling to drive to the gunks for teh weekend just for him. observe his strange gym ways. i have seen real rock once ONCE at Rumney for 3 hours. that is it. suck it up. mike

I think i have driven all but two friends away cause of my climbing, or inablity to. Any other horror stories because of the inablity to go climbing out there? Good luck to all of us! Pride

This thread is so sad, I never realised that there could be such poor and unfortunate people in this world. I can only offer my condolences to you guys. I can`t really empathise with you as I`m able to get in any amount of climbing that I want to. Sorta spoiled I guess. Don`t get me wrong I`m not meaning to brag or anything, I just want to try to understand what it must feel like to not be able to climb and the very thought makes me wince. ...Phil...Trying to feel your pain but not succeeding.

Been more than six for me. I try to go to the gym as much as I can, but it's not the same. I have holds on my house with permission of my parents, but it gets old. I have a slackline, but it's really cold out. Winter and school kill it all for me. I think they next chance I'll get on the rocks will be in February, when you'll find me in Hawaii.

it's been about 5 weeks...since school started again that's depressing I live in a 3story apartment complex, so I have 3 stories to builder and there are about 10 buildings. I hope my neighbors don't call the police soon. Go to friend's houses...check if the have a chimeney, basement, attic or climbable area...i wonder if that's why they don't invite me anymore Peace

School, grumble grumble. It's killing me as well. I use to get more climbing done in a week than I have since school started up again. I tried doing summer courses, that didn't pan out to well, climbing won, but I failed bad. Where's the balance, it's either one or the other. I need my climbing fix. The rope is too clean, the shoes don't stink, my chalk supply is up and my girlfriend put the nail in the coffin, "your hards are soft." Ahh shoot me!!!! Back to my f-ing useless waste of time homework. But... the only thing getting me through the semester is knowing how much climbing there'll be once I'm done. Ya try and think positive....try real hard.

I broke a hold off my new boulder project and smacked my right shin pretty good about two hours ago. Now I'm in a bit of pain. So sometimes getting to climb all the time has it's drawbacks. Like......you could get hurt and not be able to climb!!
