That's what this place needs to be called. It's starting to trip me out how many wankers get on here and spray about how they have only climbed in a gym. Seriously, why do you post here? The gym climbing experience has nothing to do with rock climbing. Climbing outside is like being picked up by a supermodel were as gym climbing is like being raped in prison. One last thing. Why do people who live in states like michigan, ohio or other ass holes of the earth climb in gyms and think their rock climbers? Move some were with rock if you love it instead of weekend warrioring to ky or nc and fucking up really climbers day by bring the gym with you. Well, I'm off to the crag, sorry for the fucks getting boners to go to the gym.

yeah that sound like a great idea move some where like where you live, and have to deal with you and all the others like you, yeah right. And when you said indoor is not like outdoor this has been talked about before, some times people have to climb in gyms to say strong. so when they come out to the crag and they crush you, on there 5.6 or 5.13 dont complain. theres more but i think they were right you just need a hug. good luck with that.

(1.) 10pts for making me laugh. (2.) -5pts for lack of subtly, could have built up momentum over 3-4 more posts and then gone in for the kill. (3.) -5pts for not really considering name change for rc.com. Better choice could have been something like: www.people_who_dont_really_climb_but_think_they_do_but_no_shutup_NOOb_I_will_outclimb_you_anyday_ inside_climbing_talk_about_outside_climbing.com (4.) +10pts for super model and prison sex analogy. (5.) +35pts for getting people to respond to your post in the following ways: t1-t5, T1 – T5, TROLL, Troll, TROLLLLLL, TrOl, STFU, STFU dumbass, you are Not a real climber, etc... Sry I couldn't give you more pts here, if you had a couple more dumbasses respond with the troll thing, I could have awarded you and extra 5pts. The thread is still open, so there is a chance for more pts in this area. (6.) Total Pts awarded: 45 pts

I never cry when I see some one succeed outside rockforlife. In fact I'd like to see some one come along and crush the 2nd ascent of some of my FAs. One things for sure that person will not be a fucking gym rat. From what I've seen of dudes that spend all their time in the gym is if you actually see them outside they spend all their time making excuses for why their not climbing good that day when in fact it's because they dont know how to REALLY climb. All I'm saying is if you only/mostly climb plastic and spray about climbing to anyone who will listen your a fucking loser. It's like coming home from work and riding the stationary bike for an hour in front of the t.v. every night then acting like your fucking lance armstrong, or worse yet acting better than the 3 year old down the street who rides his bike all damn day but still has training wheels.

Rat-baby I climb harder, much much harder outside than inside. I always have. Without question, plastic is the medium that I struggle the most with. Ask my partners, it's not pretty. While I'm not a gym rat and I suppose I could likely get the second on many of your FA's (and you're invited to do the same to some of mine) I don't look down on the gymbo's. OK, I might, a little. I'm not going to post a mis-spelled grammatic holocaust to air my opinion on the matter though.

I'd be pretty angry if I was that bald too. And when I get back to the creek I'm not going to look you up. My time would be limited and I would spend it doing the routes I did not get the chance to do last spring. You know you'd do the same if you came to NC. I'm not wrecking the gym. Hell this part of the country is under water this weekend. I'll have to be there when it opens today to train. I love climbing. I live 45 minutes from killer climbing and if it was doing anything but raining I'd be there. If I lived in the red still and it was raining I'd still go climbing. If it's dry tomorrow I'm going climbing. I'm just saying why if you love climbing why do you live some where thats flatter than flat and have to drive for hours to get to real rock? Or worse yet live in a place like this then spend 90% of your climbing time in a gym?

Why do people live in tornado alley and act surprised when their house goes airborne? Why do people live in arid regions and expect there not to be a drought? You're really worried about this? Climbing, to some, is an activity-a hobby. Not a reason to keep breathing. Uprooting your whole family so that you can climb outside more might seem selfish to these people. I don't know.

Ok, so I've read all your responses and I've come to this conclusion. You have some deep rooted childhood problems and maybe some anger issues. I know it was difficult for you when you were young and the other little kids passed you on the monkey bars but I just want you to know it will be OK! People in the climbing gyms are not out to get you. Some who train both indoor and outdoor may outclimb you somedays, but you will survive. Oh yeah, and just to throw this in "Are you f_cking serious!" Do you actually read the stupidity that you write or did you just forget your meds?

So in this analogy if a gym climber is the guy on the stationary bike, is the 3 year old down the street with training wheels an outdoor aid climber?

I currently live in Michigan due to circumstances outside my control. Although I may not be a "true rock climber" by your standards, I have learned how to use proper grammar, and to argue for my opinions in an educated, non-vulgar way.

I did the whole uproot my life and move somewhere with rock, I moved from alberta to nova scotia...yes i realize alberta has plenty of good climbing, however i dont drive and living in edmonton it was pretty hard to acctually get out to the rocks, so i decided to move to halifax where climbing real rock is accessable by bus...And this being my first time getting to climb on rock more than plastic, i have to say....this whole issue about climbing on real rock compared to gym is just plain stupid, i dont find climbing on real rock that much different than plastic, i mean sure its not all funky colours and its moulded smoothly together, but damnit its the same god damn movements, you still get the same workout, its still just as challenging and just as fun..and i think thats what it all comes down to, your not having "fun" climbing anymore, its become a competition to you because you have some insecurities that your dealing with and if you can put down people who climb in gyms you will somehow feel superior because you only climb "real" non of that fake climbing, well good for you, guess what if you climb rocks trees plastic buildings monkey bars....its all the same thing, climbing...some people just really enjoy the act of climbing and arnt trying to make themselves feel better about themselves because they can look at some new person climbing at the gym and laugh.... on a second note however, being back in edmonton(still sans car) what really pisses me off is that guy who was watching me working on a problem and as soon as i went to get water and take a break went over to it, climbed it then walked away smirking while i was too pumped to get through the crux...that guy definatly has some insecurities he needs to be working out
