I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned earlier, but the Mushroom Boulder at Hueco is now closed. I can't believe it. It's such a slap in the face to the climbing community! To do it in the middle of the season and so suddenly- it's just wrong.

Hahaha Aimee I almost wrote you a nasty response until I looked at your profile and realized it was you. :) Look, erosion caused by us climbers has caused ancient artifacts to literally float to the surface. They're everywhere. It would be irresponsible to continue using that area until they do something about it. (If they ever do something about it.) Say hi to Kyle and Ella for me.

What kind of nasty response? They won't ever do anything about it though. That's the real shame. They should just excavate and reopen it, but they won't. You're there, was it as abrupt as it seems? Hope you're having a good season. We were there in Nov, but only climbed one day in Hueco and the rest of the time at the Tunnel. Kyle forgot your website, so we didn't get in touch. Did you see Ella on climbing.com? http://www.climbing.com/exclusive/talltales/ellaanorexic/
