So after a day of aiding in the rain, everything is soaked, and it takes hours to dry every little piece of gear, cams, ovals, etc.
Cam's/stoppers are obviously important to clean & dry well, but does everyone clean every single biner and hook? I mean take a towel and hand dry every piece, which is what I've been doing so far.
Am I worrying too much about corrosion? or can I just hang it up in a dry place and let it dry itself?

I seen some corrosion near the cam shaft and also on screws on the biners mainly from oxidized aluminum.
Edit; use WD40

Whatever you do, DONT use wd-40. that stuff attracts dirt and will gunk up all your gear.
just let it air dry, don't worry so much.

Hang it all up to dry, no real worries about corrosion from rainwater.
You will get some surface corrosion on your hooks, and your beat up pins if you have them, but who cares, hooks and pins aren't that pretty to begin with.
I clean and lube my cams every other year, regardless of how many days I spend in the rain.
They have worked fine so far.
Yeah, no WD-40.... Carbon graphite or preferably, a sinkful of water and compressed air to clean cams.

Just lay it out on the floor or hang it up to dry, it'll be fine.
One thing *not* to do is to leave it wet in your pack for weeks. I did that once.

Yeah I second the no-WD40 motion. Tried it once. It gunks up everything with grime as soon as you take them out for the next use.

Cam lube is pretty much white lightning bike chain lube in a spiffy metolius bottle (read the fine print). So I just use the mega bottle I already have lying around for my cams.
I have had them gunk up if I take them to the cold right after a lube job, but it hasn't been a problem if it's been a couple trips since they were cleaned/lubed.
For cleaning I also use a bike chain degreaser, and it works pretty well. I blast them, work them, blast them, etc until the runoff is not horribly black.

By the way most bike chain degreasers are just super expensive dishwashing detergents.
So you can also use that big bottle you already have at home.

At least the ones I use are solvent based, not detergent based. I just really like not having to rinse off soap, and being able to use the spray tube to get it right down in there where I want it.

I was reading this post and would like to recommend a product called Jig-A-Loo for all your lubricating needs. It's a dry silicone-based lubricant that, unlike any other lubricant, contains no oil, grease, wax, petroleum distillates or detergent, so it doesn't stain or stink. It stops squeaks, un-sticks just about anything, protects against rust, and is an exceptional water repellent.
