Fish Products backlog?

Has anybody else ordered stuff from Fish lately? Have they been having problems filling orders? I ordered back in late December and still have no idea when I might get my order, so I'm curious if others typically have to wait a long time for their stuff too (haul bag in this case)

Did I not slip Russ enough extra on the side or what? Unsure

I've heard such great things about Fish, what can I say? I'm anxious to get my hands on the stuff.

P.S. Has Fish got anything irreplaceable that a new bigwaller could use up on Half Dome?

Thanks!

depends on what you slip him on the side.

extra love is always good.

i;ve never had a problem with Fish ordering time. what did you put down as your 'need by' date? I know your anxious but it'll show up. Russ is the man.

russian aiders would be sweet-----

June 1st... but I stated that it would be *really* nice if I could actually practice with a haul bag before trying a 2-3 day climb. You know, a little hands on before tackling the monster.

So, maybe I'm to blame for being lenient. I should have put "yesterday"? Wink

Yes you're to blame. Sly

Best advice is to just contact Fish and see if he has the bandwidth to move up your date. BTW, many of us get use to buying from distributors who have a bunch of crap sitting around waiting to be purchased and they ship out the same day. Fish, as a small mfg, commonly appears to build to order, and thats why he asks for the dates you need your stuff. I think he generally is good at hitting those dates unless he gets in a bad batch of material etc etc, which can and has happened in the past.

Just email him and let him know whats up. It's good stuff and work the wait, but you won't get it done by tossing it out to us wankers:-)

Good luck!

BTW, 2 years ago I Fed up and gave the date I wanted th stuff buy April 20th, when I was going to Yosemite in like Mar 20th.
Dohhh,

The good news, Russ beat the date I requested, so that when I got back I had my stuff. However, I didn't contact him to ask for a faster time.

If you said, ship it by June 1st, just email him and lay it all out. I'm sure he'll fix you up.

BTW, you see the new aid ladders he's doing? Stuff looks great.

Good call.

Yeah, I tried emailing him a couple times over the last month (look slike he's been away actually), but didn't want to get up anybody's butt about this and end up with a less-than-stellar- piece of gear or getting a bad rep with such a cool gear maker :(. I thought someone might be having the same issue, but I guess I'll just shoot another message to Russ.

Thanks for the info!

good things come to those that wait...

but, you might want to give old Russ a call and beg for March or April.

I only get fussy with guys that come on the internet and rip us an undeserved new ass Smile

If you are the dude from IL, I can bump that up no prob for ya. Over here, after xmas, things are pretty slow until like March and I'm gone a bunch out climbing and whatnot. The 6/1 DD Date means unless there is a big batch of something being made that happens to include what you ordered, I probably won't even look at your order until about a month out. But, since a batch of haul bags is the next big thing to happen here (besides the constant nightmare of ledges...don't ask!) I'll toss your order into that batch. Now here is where I get in trouble..... I'll try to ship all you haul bag guys (if others are reading this too), in about a week or so, maybe two weeks if the 70 degree weather holds out here in Joshua TreeWink

The thread ain't done yet..... I try to keep a barf bag handy whenever I venture in the RC.com vomitorium.

Maybe this will help with the delay.... this is what I was doing a couple of days ago instead of making your haul bag (the dude in IL.)

You can see why I'm conflicted! Work or hideous groaning in a wide crack.... hmmmmm

Sorry...but work looks more fun than that.

I finally got some wide pro and think I'll try and wrap my head around it this year.

Bill, get on a plane and fly to Palm Springs this Thursday. All you need to know is that there is a Wide_Fest in JT this weekend. Illuminaries and n00bs alike will be bleeding and moaning all over the monzonite.

Thanks Russ!

Always nice to see somebody balance work/play the right way... although from the picture I'm not sure which is which.

Wouldn't mind getting on some wide nastiness myself, actually. Crazy
