Does anyone out there draw or sketch the rock they've climbed or at least the areas they have climbed? I would be really interest in seeing some of your work so if you do please post some.

If your looking for sketchings of Routes try a search for "topos" over the years I have seen a few nice ones. This is a link to a lot of art by Climbers (for the most part.) http://www.summitpost.org/...63/Mountain-Art.html

My friend Brutus drew this during a basecamp rest day, on a scrap of paper with a broken pencil: He also majored in French Horn and can captain a team to replace a 12-inch high pressure water main. Good man, Brutus. DMT

I added one of mine to the photos under the "artistic" category: http://www.rockclimbing.com/photos/96794.html Almost all of my artwork is landscape based on the places I visit when climbing. I'm more interested in the feeling the art provokes in me and the viewer than in representation. Phyl

A fellow PA climber pointed me to this thread, and I'm glad he did. WOW, Jamie, that some great work. Inspiring and has me thinking. I've used my life outdoors to get out of my studio and only recently started sketching boulder maps and route topos just to help out me and others get around some rock in PA. Might be time to take an easel and some paint next trip to the crag. Check out Shaffers Rock to see the most complete set of rough topos. http://www.rockclimbing.com/...k_aka_The_Hermitage/ And while reading a few threads, I've penciled a few quick sketches as jokes, nothing like you guys. Just to give you an idea of what my usual works look like. None of my paintings are digitized, but I scanned this color study of the current piece I'll be working on for a show this year from my man and woman series. It is two paintings that will hang side by side (hopefully it will make sense when the are side by side), each being 7 feet by 9 feet. Again great work everyone, can't wait to see more! Long happy trails and safe climbing, Jae

Outstanding! The caricatures of curt and jt512 are cool. I see self-depracating humor in thise drawings, not something really negative about either of them, nor anyone else really. Just a humerous slice of climbing life. WELL DONE. DMT
