Donate $40 to the ASCA to support bolt replacement in Red Rocks, and get Joanne Urioste's original guidebook to Red Rocks (1984, reprinted a few years ago). A great, compact Sierra Club-size pocket guidebook with precise written descriptions and general photo-topos of the canyons. Joanne Urioste made this possible by donating an entire box (48 books!) of her reprinted original guidebook, the Red Book (reprints have a white cover). So by donating you're basically matching her donation - big thanks to Joanne! To this point, the ASCA has replaced 622 bolts in Red Rocks, including hundreds of bolts on Urioste routes. http://www.safeclimbing.org/news.htm#rr_guide Here are some pics:

The guide is a classic, but it's from 1984 - half a decade before power drills and sport climbing came on the scene! So if you like long trad routes, and you're looking for detailed descriptions instead of topos, it's still a great resource for Red Rocks, and it fits in your pocket. It's also a key historical guidebook. For most of the popular routes, there's very detailed descriptions - including the number of bolts per pitch on the bolted face pitches on Urioste routes. Detailed information on all sorts of routes, including for instance the upper pitches of Dark Shadows. But even Prince of Darkness is newer than this guidebook - it was finished when the original guide was freshly printed!

A bump for Greg and the ASCA. For the first many trips I took to Red Rocks, this was the only guide to be had. I've still got my old red copy (folks called it the Scarlet Bible back then) and thumbing through it brings back some good memories. These guys are doing a good thing in Red Rocks and that should be reason enough to send $40 if you climb there, but this way you get a little something for yourself.

Joanne Urioste just donated more guidebooks! So the ASCA offer is still good, donate $40 and get a reprint of the original Red Rocks guidebook!
