My third wall success!

My buddy and I just got off the "Prow" on Washington Column. The wall went down pretty easy. We spent 2 nights on the wall and one on top. The Valley was cold as hell, but the wall climbing and the summit were extremely pleasant. I took a minor fall on a C1 pitch (tipped-out black/blue alien hybrid). That was embarassing.

As always, I got scared on the descent and my fat ass lagged the whole way down. Got a little off route but regained the trail after I sketched out on some exposed downclimbing with the pig. The North Dome gully was slightly snow choked, but soft enough by mid / late morning for secure post holeing. I would not suggest descending the ND gully if there's snow either at night or early morning without crampons. That shit is hard and sliiiiiick.

A good rule of thumb for the ND gully is to descend on climbers right of the gully (ie descend on the gully slope closest to halfdome. If the descent looks turbo sketchy you may have gotten off trail. Keep traversing.

Special thanks again to "lambone," the only guy I've been able to summit with. He's my ringer! As always he carried the heavy shit and lead the hard pitches.

Trip report to follow.

Matt.... money is on the way for the ledge... thanks again.

Grover

3 and 3 now:
-West Face Leaning Tower - Success in a 18hr push.
-Wilson Wall Baffin Island - Utter failure.
-South Face of Wash Column - Failed twice.
-North American Wall of El Cap - Success in 6 nights.
-The Prow of Wash Columng - Success in 3 nights.
