Booty booty should be cleaned thoroughly before you use it.
FWIW: the scraping whipper can be partially fixed by a good dentist. So far, nobody's been able to make fake fingers that work very well.
Tommy Iommi of Black Sabbath had a couple of fingers chopped off in an industrial machine, but that didn't stop him from wailing away on the fine riffs of Paranoid and other HM classics. He used(s) little plastic caps on the stubs.

Iommi gots nuthin on the jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt! This dude lost two fingers in a fire accident, and just played without them! And his licks were slightly more complex than 'Paranoid".

Camhead,
while Django's "chops" are definitely a 10/10, you can't discount Iommi because of the era he played in. I'm sure he oculda been a great jazz guitarist, but if he played that, well, sabbath fans would have shot him. What they were going for is heavy, mean, scary azz music... kinda hard to show your mastery of the subtleties of the guitar when going for that.
