Couldn't believe it when I saw this but I'm excited. I have imagined something like this (more of a liquid metal kind of thing, like from the terminator movies) but didn't expect it to be around so soon. http://camp-usa.com/module/product/detail.asp?ID=313 Ready for the market in 2008. Do you think they will be easy to use, reusable/long lasting, expensive?

AWESOME! I hope they make a small container of it available. That'd be nice to do some home repairs on the nuts. OOOOO and can you imagine the possibilities for homemade gear! I'm psyched!

Muad_Dib wrote: If you think this is a real product then consider yourself stupid...real stupid. Polymer science is here, dude. Polymer science has brought us plastics to design joints out of, plastic shunts that degrade after a couple months in the body, and apparently d3o (spelling?). Eventually, they will have designed a way to polymerize bucky balls into a string, and instead of climbing rope you will use something that is much stronger and actually about as thick as a strand of silk. polymer science also brought us polyamide ropes, but that was just the beginning.

Is this for real? I mean, I've heard about d30, but that doesn't look like what I've seen.

Dang, that could be the best april fools ever if that's what it is. I got the original e-mail and link from Rock and Ice with a short review of the nuts and everything! Well played on their part!

Johnny_Fang wrote: the scientist's name was Aprile Pazzo... I wonder what Pazzo might mean in Italian... I heard he's going to move to US to continue his research in a reputed University. But he was asked to change his name to the american equivalent: Dr. April Fool
