Its been a busy and shitty day. Fridays normally have the most boring meetings that have nothing to do with me.

Why would you want to go to a class on how to screw up access and loose your crag?

Wink

Keep your chin up, it will get better soon. Have a beer or 12 on your new deck!
Its a course put on by the Texas Parks so people can do voluntary guiding. And maybe for Rob.

I see
What are you up to this weekend?
I did some bouldering today. I bet I got in about an imperial ton in two hours. Maybe not though. My truck was really squatting. I should have got a trailer to take with so I could have got more. There was one hugey I wanted to get, but we were having a hell of a time moving it to get it in the truck. I have to unload them myself at home, so I decided against it. I still got 9 way to heavy for me to lift boulders plus a bunch of smaller ones.

Tomorrow if it isn't raining we are going climbing. If it does rain maybe we will go get more boulders.

Did you wear a beenie?
No

I forgot to take one with.

It wasn't very cold anyway.

Today was cold. I wore a hat. I was wishing I had wore long underwear.

Well, you can't boulder without a beenie. Shocked

Is that what I've been doing wrong? Damn. No Beenie while bouldering.... gues my old school bandana hippy hat just doesn't give me the bouldering pow'ah of da beenie.

We can pretend to worry, but we all know we really don't care.

Wait!

Doesn't Art care?

fuckin rain.

All the weather predictions I read for Saturday, as well as the weather on Saturday said that it would be cloudy with a chance of rain in the evening. We were driving at 6 AM and it starts pouring. I was a bit over half-way there. So, I did what any respectable climber would do.

I turned the fuck around and went home. I grabbed the rest of my rack (I take only what is needed for a given area) and head 1 hour in the opposite direction to do some Maine coast climbing, where we had a wonderful day.

It started raining, too, though only after we made it back to the trailhead in the afternoon. Drove 5 hours to make it to the area that is 47 minutes from my house. We should have went to Acadia.

Fuckin Rain...

Fuckin' Rain. At least it wasn't hail.

I did have a new route Saturday though. Enjoyed all 145m of it. Would have been completely hooped without pins. Fucked up one of my KB's though Mad. Damn twisted limestone cracks... mind you it wasn't over driven, tied off actually and was likely my best piece in the top half of the first pitch.

Pics, when I find the sync cord for my camera.

I didn't build the front step.

I put chicken wire around the perimeter of the deck and buried it to hopefully keep them out of under there.

But getting back to our conversation about bodies, I think Doc might have been right. A while back I could smell this skunky nastiness in our basement. I think it might have been the skunks under the step.

I have heard that the only thing stinkier than a skunk is a dead skunk.

My cousin ran over a Skunk with her Camaro a number of years ago... ended up dragging the stink rodent a few hundered meters down the road (lower ground clearence). It was a damn hot summer that year too, and no amount of engine degreaser could get the smell away, especially when the engine warmed up.Crazy

I've told this tale before, but I'll share it again.

When I was young, growing up on a ranch, we had tons of ranch-cats. Near-feral things, we would feed them on the front porch in exchange for them keeping the local mouse population somewhat under control.

One afternoon approaching winter solstice as the days grew shorter, my older sister was just arriving home from school. Coming up the steps to the porch, she reached down to pet one of the cats eating from the cat food bowl. Of course, this was not one of the cats, but in the early evenind dusk that she didn't realize this until it stiffened it's back legs and released an immense cloud of pungent stuff.

It took several gallons of tomato juice to clean her and the front porch up to the point that it wouldn't make your eyes water.

The only thing she can really say about it after all these years is "Skunks? Yeah, I petted one. Once."
My story's better. Yours is too long
Better how? Not sure I'd go about bragging about the awful fish smell coming from the back seat, nor the maggots festering in its pool of juices.
