I would look into it at Dynorock thats in Arlington but if you don't mind driving to Grapevine then go to Summit. If you go in the mornings there's no little kids running around and there's very few climbers too. Me and a friend took a lead climbing class there and it was really good. The guy that did it took time to explain everything really good and let us practice a lot. All in all it was well worth the money, I feel much more comfortable about the idea of lead climbing and have now re kindled the climbing fire. I was really getting bored of top roping and this was an awesome change.

You could contact Texas Mountaineers. They are a DFW based climbing club. They run beginners classes, although they fill up quickly. They are a good club who have frequent outdoor trips. Different small groups from the club climb a various indoor walls, including Summit, Canyons, Dallas Rocks etc on a regular basis. Their site has a list of walls in the area, and a lot more useful info.

If you're IN Arlington, Dyno-Rock is closest. You can call and set up some instruction time with a few of the guys there.

Summit's a bit of a drive, but a very pretty gym, though I've never taken any instruction from anyone there.

we've been going to Grandbury to Eagle Flight, they were really good and we had fun but now that me and my friend are trying to do our solo jumps they haven't really showed much interest. We call them to make an appointment and they say they'll call us back and never do and we've tried like 3 times. They're really cool people though and if you're just going for your first jump I recommend them. Definitely pay to get pictures and video of your first jump, its so worth it.

If you are interested in continuing and finding a mentor, i can try to hook you up with my friend and teammate who
jumps there all the time. He likes working with new people and brining them up to speed. You probably saw him ... the guy who jumps the smallest canopy, makes every load and reads books on the way to altitude lol

Cheers ... Tongue
