that is just how alain gets it done. he has been doing it for years, not something new. Check out buildering.net to see other climbers who have moved from rock to concrete and steel.

I heard that route is rated 5.0, but there's no consensus yet because it's only seen two ascents.

man...that climbing looks pretty easy. I find it really interesting to read to responses of the crowd. Those poor bastards, living their lives caged up in the office buildings of NYC, with no adventure in their lives. The safety of that lifestyle would be suffocating.

sure it was an easy looking climb, but builderers tend to shy away from grading their climbs. I agree on the whole "living in a cage" thing you said, but free solo in the city is not a "normal" activity.

Safety? No adventure? Depends on which part of town you walk through.

easy climb but still crazy.... he has done much harder climbs for sure. If I recall correctly he has been rescued off the side of the same building a few times. I don't remember which one it is but it had a verticle crack all the way up that he had to layback on and it was like 100 degrees.

lrossi wrote: Safety? No adventure? Depends on which part of town you walk through. point taken, but i think he was talking more about the people who live their lives with each day blending into the next because they never go and change it up (adventure).
