Kind of like the Maypole, without the Maypoll. http://www.oneplusyou.com/q/v/caffeine How much have you had to drink today?
In other news, our latest ship sails down the river today. Quality work done. I plan on sitting on the beach at the mouth of the river drinking a few beers as it passes into open ocean. It should be a fair sight, as long as it doesn't rain. Super tired here, and no amount of coffee has been able to keep me awake in the afternoons all week. I work too hard - read: I need an easier job.

I've had one large cup with breakfast this morning, and am currently in the middle of an energy drink. I hate drinking the things because I'm sure every one shortens my life my a measurable amount, but they are so delicious, quite the opposite of the coffee we have here.

A cup of coffee in the morning might give you that burst of alertness, but a study revealed that it might also disrupt your short-term recall of specific words. This phenomenon called "tip-of-the-tongue," when a person has a difficult time coming up with a word they already know, is thought to be activated by caffeine consumption. One researcher believed that alertness produced by caffeine happened as the result of closing down other brain pathways. This process makes it more of a challenge to recall certain words. While caffeine has been associated with feelings of alertness and stimulated brain activity, it has also been linked to either hindering or improving short-term memory depending on what you are trying to remember. Results of the Study * It was discovered that when the words looked similar to the answer, caffeine helped with the recall When the words weren't similar, it was found that recall was hindered for those who were in the caffeine group * Researchers are looking into the impact of caffeine on short-term word recall. This condition is known as aphasia. One coffee spokesperson disagreed with the results of the study and stated it was too small of a study to produce conclusive results. The spokesperson also claimed that several past studies have shown the positive benefits of caffeine consumption in relation to alertness, cognitive abilities and mood. I replied to a coffee thread once, about three years ago, intruding on a Climbinganne dissertation about a "fu#$me" chair. My, how times have changed. Vacation week here at school, so I am pretty bored. I'll take two large black coffees and a belly rub.

Today is a highly caffinated day!! I drank about two to three cups on the way in to work and then stopped into Starbucks to fill the thermos. So I am on about cup four right now. I woke up at 3:45 a.m. this morning, 15 minutes before my 4 a.m. alarm. Took the GF to the airport for her trip to Vegas with friends. Hoping to get a lot done around the house this weekend since she will be gone. Planning on checking out a new rock climbing gym in Dallas too. It's supposed to be pretty rad with lots of "high ball" bouldering!! I think the bouldering walls are 15 feet high! The lead routes are also supposed to be exceptional. Can't wait! Trip to the Wichta Mountains got canceled because my partner bailed, so this will have to do.

Oh, and I may try to work up to the 1,000 post mark today too! Or who knows, maybe I will save that 1,000th post for Friday morning, or may even hold out until Monday :)

Morning all, Night class last night then to bed "early", not much else. Feeling very unproductive last couple of days, I'm just having trouble buying into the "work" thing. XXL me.

Today is... the same as every other morning of the week. Standard issue coffee for me. Where is this new gym? I'm in dallas for work for the next month and need some interesting climbing that doesn't require a belayer while everyone is away for the summer.

I got drunk and high last night after playing board games at my friend's place, passed out, woke up, came home, went to bed, and woke up a bit ago to forget that today is a week day. I'm going to hit the rocks today as soon as my head clears.

http://www.dallasclimbing.com/ The day rates are pretty pricey, highest in the area, but if you tell them you are with the Addison Meetup group you will get a discount. I think they are giving 20% off.

Is this a thread about smoking pole? If so there is someone who doesn't frequent these threads over in Soapbox that we need to invite. I'm sure he has a well thought out opinion that he will throw under the bus just to benefit this thread! I'm too much coffee man today....which is just about right. Listening to Andrew Bird's "Armchair Apocrypha" Nice.

East Timor is brewed, and the pot's over yonder ---> So things are incredibly slow at work today, and I'm not sure if I want them to be that way or not. I'm going on vacation this weekend, my first for 5 years, and this week has been excruciatingly long so far, and that is only magnified by the lack of work to keep me occupied. My boss gave me some corrections that I needed to make on a document a few mintues ago, and told me that I needed to take my time and make it last for a majority of the day. I got it done in 30 minutes and now I'm bored out of my mind. What are some entertaining sites that I can look at on the internet, keep in mind I am at work and there is a filter. Thanks guys!

"Insanedly high -- a vibrating crackhead." I've only had one, maybe two cups of tea today. So far this staying up late and getting up early crap hasn't been bad yet, aside from having to change my eating schedule. But I'm sure in the next week or two I'll be hating it. Only two more days of classes and work until my day off.

Over tired, didn't sleep last night... too many worries... Need coffee... could use a smoke too. Going away to the muontains for the weekend, just hope we don't get called back with bad news while we're out there. Could use a good single malt too, but alas work won't let me.
