THis post made me discover work has all beer related sites blocked too!! This is ridiculous. They have have the internet blocked. Literally!! Scottish Ale is great! Just had one last night. It's not bitter or hoppy but is just slightly sweet. It is now one of my favorite beers.

1. Go to beer store. 2. Buy variety/seasonal pack of [insert local brewery] 3. she likes some, you like others this works for me (i like dark, boy likes lighter beers). I would say #9 is just as fruity as Fat Tire, in fact the two remind me of each other, so not sure #9 would be a good choice (though I really enjoy their current Oddnotion... it's dark and smooth and just really nice). You probably can't find that in AZ though.

What's up with that? Do people actually like that? Sorry, but there are things that just shouldn't be sweet. I bought a bottle of ranch dressing the other day (I had a hankering) and just about puked. Who thought sugar would go with ranch? Went back to the store and even found bleu cheese dressing with corn syrup as the third or so ingrediant. America is truely in decline. The beer store thingie is a great suggestion, tho.

I kinda like Boddingtons Pub Ale. Or most of the Rogue beers if they carry them in your area. But as a rock climber you should only drink PBR.

I've never been a fan of #9, MO it's a kids beer. For VT beers 1. Ridgrunner any kind 2. Trout River, Oatmeal Stout 3. 3 Needs Triple Boch 4. Alchemist 5. The Shed Mountain Ale Good luck finding any of these out west. Although I did find Magic Hat in Whitefish, MT. As far as western beers my favorite is Rogue. I also love PBR's, Hamms, and Shaefer. Speaking of which if you mix Shlitz and Hamms, you will get schlammed.

I enjoy both Fat Tire and #9, but I also find that I like some sweeter beers. Not, like, lambics, but I do enjoy a refreshing lightly fruity beer like both of the above on a warm day. But then I pretty much like all beers. Except Blue Moon and the generic Light Beers. My fiancee and I do a beer club at his work where a bunch of people chip in x amount of money and one dude buys a bunch of cases of various microbrews, then mixes them all up so you get a really big sampler of different types of beers. It's a nice way to try things without being stuck with a huge amount of something you might not necessarily like. K.

You probably can't find that in AZ though. Yes, at AJ's/Whole Foods you can get singles of beers from around the States/World, so buy a variety and have a taste-off. The selections, even here in AZ, have been good, but I haven't seen the #9 or Oddnotion. Fat Tire tastes like what I imagine a yeast infection would taste like. I guess if that's your gig...

Try Blackened Voodoo Lager. Its very dark but is nice and smooth. It could be a good compromise. Edited to say that I think Fat Tire is aweful as well. I volunteered to drink the first one, was forced to drink the second one at a company party by my boss and I won't drink the third one without a fight.

Hey, T-dad? If you can, get a hold of some Ju-Ju Ginger (Left Hand Brewing Company.) I *think* you can find it at the liquor store on University, just W of ASU campus, south side (near the Oreganos, but just East of there.)

You need to comeover to the dark side... the side where others will carry all your gear into the camp in exchange for you loading a haulbag with a pony keg and a couple 26's of Whisky to have in camp for the weekend.
