Hey. I am moving to Columbia(SC) in August and excited. I have been living in Chicago for a year and there isn't anything great to climb save for Devil's Lake. I have been making trips to Seneca in WV for extended trips and on my way down hitting up RRG. Once I get there what are the places to go. I have seen a bunch of places in NC, but are they worth driving to? Or are they places that are more local? Is there anything within an hour of me, or am I gonna have to do the long haul? If anyone out there has some good info to share around that would be great, or even more if you are looking for a partner, hit me up!

your about 3 hours away from pilot, moorewall, and sauratown. Sauratown is worth going to in the winter, moores is also worth going to in the spring/fall/summer. pilots only worth going to once or twice. you're also about 3 hrs from table rock and laurel knob, both worth going to. i've never been, but crowders is apparently garbage. too far for me to justify going, but ppl say theres alot of shitty rock and shitty routes. chatanooga looks to be about a 5 hour drive for you. T-wall is there, along with foster falls. both places are bad ass. then if you're looking for an adventure, stone is like 2.5 hours.

I think Tallulah Gorge is within a couple of hours. Never climbed there but I here it is awesome. Buy the Dixie Craggers Atlas and enjoy.

Tallulah Gorge and Toccoa Falls in Georgia are both good and not that bad of a drive. I live in Columbia and like to go there for weekend climbing/camping trips. Also, there are two places in Columbia to indoor climb that are pretty nice.
