I'm back. 2 FA's over the weekend, loads of drinking, and one really good stuck in the truck... in the middle of the river. Tones of washout + redeposition + not enough time for the crossing to harden = diging down. I took it slow, but when the front tire slipped, that was it! the pasenger side of the hood was under water. Had to hand winch it out backwards . Then it downpoured and the river rose another foot. Good thing we didn't get across!

Was that PT just sitting there? Huh...this thread really is slow right now! So I think I have both days off this weekend and I'm wondering who I'll find to go climbing with me. Doesn't sound like Nathan will be back till early next week. Le sigh.

The father-in-law is still bad off right now. Laurie and her sisters just got called by the hospital and told they need to get there ASAP. She called me on her way to the hospital and said she'd call me as soon as she knew anything. I'm waiting rather anxously right now to see if I have to run up there. Nerveracked and stressed to the max right now. I really hate these kinds of waiting games.... I'm not good at them and they are not fun.

Your stuck in the mud story brings back memories from the day...haha .I was dating a guy who owned a 'monster truck' spent a weekend when I was 18 at a mudfest. Wild times

I spent the weekend with my kids. Took them on a canoe/kayak trip. We did about 8 hours of paddling. Camped overnight on route. They were not too happy that we didn't have pillows or anything to sleep on between us and the hard ground. I told them they would appreciate their beds more after we roughed it. child abuse?

i'm not at liberty to discuss my weekend plans. Mostly because I do not want to bore the shit out of everyone. However, my partner and I climbed Madame G and Middle Earth at the gunks today, and put in two more bolts on monday at the new area.

Well my day hasn't been good at all... At 4:58 this afternoon, surrounded by his daughters and myself, my father-in-law took his last breaths. Don't really know what else to write. It's a hard time for all of us right now.

I did the first pitch (or linked the first 2 together, I forget ho long it's supossed to be). Gear wasn't great for the last stretch before the horizontal you're supossed to make the anchor in. I threw ever tri-cam I had left in that crack happy I was done. I made Nathan do the last pitch. Don't think I'd bother doing it again. Though it had been a little damp and there were wasps all over the rock too so I might have just been in a sketched out space in mind to start with, so maybe it really isn't that bad.

Yeah, my partner got stung by a wasp while he was belaying me on the second pitch. It was fun climbing, but I think once is enough.

Finally made it out west this morning. Four days of straight driving. Chillaxing at a friends' house outside of SF for the day, then heading to the valley Sunday. The drive was an asskicker, but I made it. I also got some funny looks in rest stops, firing up my stove. So far, I'm having a blast and I haven't even harnessed up yet. Good to be travelling again. So what if it's gh3y purple? The bed is working great. Cheers, Matt
