my old roomate's shoes would turn his feet purple so when people asked he would tell them he had a job squashing grapes for wine. You would be amased at how gullible pople can be.

My brother taught me that if you have Orange feet (my shoe color too) then you've climbed hard enough! Embrace the Orange! Be one with the Orange! .... Or wait a while and eventually your shoes won't do it.

My rock shoes make my feet red. My mountaineering boots make my socks blue. It took a long time before the color stopped bleeding.

Why don't they sell natural leather shoes : no colorant, no pollution, smaller price.

Nacho feet! My shoes have turned my feet red. I told someone that it was a medical problem and that I was taking medication.

I think the Mojaves are the only shoe that stains your whole feet like that.

Bad news......I have some LS Cobras, and have climbed in them for well over a year. My feet still turn orange when its hot and my feet get sweaty. I like the idea of embracing it. After all climbing is simply about the pink, purple, and orange shoes isnt it?

get a lined shoe and your foot won't get stained, e.g. Anasazi Velcro. The Dragons for some reason also didn't seem to stain my feet. But, Mocs turn your feet red, Zyphers turn your feet blue, cobras turn your fet orange . .. now if you wear on cobra and one zephyer (interesting combination) you could relaly mess with people!

My brother has had a pair of 5.10 Mangos for a couple of years that still earn him the title of "Agent Orange" when he takes them off. I've seen Orange,Red,and Blue feet, but why don't the green or black shoes ever bleed?

Mine are the cobras. I should start telling people I have jaundice (sure, it's not yellow but it may work!)

I have both the mojaves and the cobras…so I get to enjoy a double dose of “Oompa Loompa” feet.

FYI - Green does bleed. I have a pair of Scarpa Minimas and my feet have been known to turn to some version of lime green from time to time.

Friend of mine just got a new pair of Red Chili slippers. As he pulled them off the last time we went climbing, I noted the color of his feet. It looked like he had jaundice localized to his feet. I was horrified. The worst I ever get is black toes (I have a pair of Boreal Diablos). I like that idea of ink free shoes. Maybe you should start shoe company?

I don't think that the synthetic shoes bleed much if at all. The only time I have had my feet turn color is with un-lined leather shoes.

I've never heard of the dyes used on synthetics bleeding, but then again, the stuff used to make it stick is either carcinogenic or explosive (or both), so they definitely want to do it right the first time.

yes, after an hour or two in my Boreal Equinoxes, my feet are nice and teal colored. I found a pleasant side effect of owning the 5.10 Huecos is that they really don't color your feet due to their white color. Woo! And yes, I own soap, but I try NOT to soap up my feet before putting them in the shoes, so, my feet stay colored till I get home and wash them.
